WMS Weekly Warrior
December 11, 2023
Good Afternoon Woodbury Middle School,
We have a busy week ahead with conferences and our Music concert. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are early release days, with dismissal at 11:55. Wednesday is concert night starting at 6:30. Doors will open at 5:45. Parking will be available here at WMS, and overflow traffic may park across the street at Mitchell Elementary.
Please stop by the office hallway during conferences and visit our book fair Holiday Pop-up shop. There are many last-minute gift ideas available. Proceeds from the Holiday Shop support the WMS PIM.
Are you missing your student’s favorite hoodie or that expensive water bottle? If so, check out the lost and found table in front of the main office. We will have all the items displayed through conferences. All leftover items will be washed and donated.
Please see the following announcements from our counseling department.
We are grateful for OUR STUDENTS! In our school counseling lessons, students created ‘Gratitude mugs’ to express gratitude for specific aspects of their lives. We will host hot chocolate and donuts for students in the cafe on Tuesday morning (12/19) to show our appreciation for them. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m., so please come in and head straight to the cafe in the morning! We can’t wait to see you there!
Attention Agriscience Applicants! The Agriscience Program is offering ‘shadowing’ for 8th graders who have applied to Ag.! If you want a first-hand look at the Agriscience program and would like to visit Nonnewaug for a day, please see Mrs. Rocco or Mrs. McGrath for more information.
On Friday of last week, we honored our top five point leaders for the first trimester in Live School. Students received a certificate and a small monetary credit at our school snack bar. These students were the leaders in demonstrating our Warrior Way.
Tomorrow is the last day to purchase raffle tickets for “Be a Teacher Day,” which will be held this Thursday. Students can buy tickets in the café at twenty-five cents ($.25)
.
Eighth-grade students will visit Nonnewaug High School on Tuesday, Dec. 19th, for a quick open house with the administration and to see some of the many outstanding programs available—more information in next week’s Warrior.
Happy Hanukkah to all those who will be celebrating this week.
Have a great week,
