Join our 2nd grade students in helping our community!

"Communities help one another!" This is one of the concepts that our 2nd grade students learned. In the spirit of that statement, we are collecting cereal boxes until October 29th. Our goal is show the domino effect by creating a cereal-size domino chain that will circle our school!

Do you know a child who is actively engaged in learning? Then, consider nominating that student for the October award, Asset #22: School Engagement.

Anyone can nominate a CBSD student for a Boomerang Youth Recognition Award. Complete the nomination form and send it to Liz Meier, our student support counselor, by October 25th.

Our 6th grade students learned about teambuilding by working together to create a safe container for the Egg Drop Challenge. Mr. Foster dropped the eggs off of the roof!

Gather your craft supplies and glue guns, it's time to create a pumpkin for our annual pumpkin patch! Consider decorating a pumpkin to decorate our hallways.

Please write your child's name and homeroom teacher on the back of the pumpkin. All submissions are due by October 25th. Any questions, please ask Mrs. Thomas.

The Halloween parade will be on Friday, October 29th at 9:00AM. (Rain date: Monday, Nov. 1st) Parking will be limited. If possible, please consider carpooling.

Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school. Please have your child bring their masks and/or accessories to school in a bag with your child's name on the bag. Please use your best judgement in costume selection. Costumes of a violent nature are discouraged. There should be no weapons of any kind brought to school on Halloween.

October 29th is a half-day of school. PM kindergarten attends.

All AM Kindergarten students are invited to participate in the outdoor parade. Please bring your child to the entrance under the large Gayman Elementary School sign, in front of the school, by 8:45AM. Mrs. Feher will bring the AM class to Ms. Cell's room where they will lead the parade. Please pick up your child after the parade at the drop-off location.

Classroom parties will be held the morning of October 29th.

If you would like to drop off games, craft items, or food before the party, please feel free to leave items in the main office during the week of October 25th. All items should be labeled with the grade and the teacher's name. The office staff will bring the items to the classroom.

Note: Your family will not be fully registered for the event if we do not receive a payment by October 22nd. If you choose to host a parking spot, there is no charge for your family to attend the event.

At Gayman Elementary School, we believe in honoring the men and women who serve, and have served, in our military. Their dedication to this country is valued and appreciated!

To mark this special day, we are hosting "Veteran Class Speakers". Any veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, is invited to speak to a class. The time of the presentation will be determined by the teacher and speaker.

A 20-minute presentation would include:

• A description of your military job/responsibilities
• A favorite memory from your service
• Questions from the students

Ideally, we need 20 veterans. NOTE: While we will make every effort to match you with your child's (grandchild's) class, you may be speaking to a different class. Email Jennifer Costello at jcostello@cbsd.org, if you are interested before November 1st.

To all of our veterans - thank you for your service!

We invite our community to share the names of their military friends and family. For every name shared, a flag will be placed on the Gayman lawn to honor that individual. Thank you!

To volunteer or chaperone, your clearances must be up-to-date.

If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. Once approved, you may upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker.

Parents and guardians are able to submit an absence request via the Parent Portal. When a student is absent from school, but the school did not receive communication from the parent or guardian, a text message and email will be sent.

All attendance questions can be directed to Christine Stevens, cstevens@cbsd.org, in the Gayman Office.

The Gayman Home & School Association has committees which raise funds for student activities, assemblies, library, school & student needs, teacher appreciation, etc. We rely on our parent volunteers to help us successfully run these programs. Getting involved in committees is a great way to meet other parents and help enhance the Gayman educational/social experience with fun activities for our kids! Thank you in advance for your time and effort! GHSA could not exist without you!

Any Central Bucks family who may need a little extra food assistance is welcome to join us on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month at Barclay Elementary School. Our drive-up food distributions run from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
