Principal's Message
Our students participated in community service. All year they have been making placemats for Meals on Wheels which reaches out to feed seniors. Below are some pictures of the Meals on Wheels cafe featuring our artwork.
This weekend the Morgan family will be making our traditional Christmas sugar cookies. This special tradition has been in my family for three generations. In true form, my boys will spend most of their time tasting the icing and sprinkles, but at the end, it will have been a very fun activity.
This time of year can be so hectic as we rush from work to practices to shopping and events, that we can forget the important things. I encourage you to keep your family traditions alive and talk with your child(ren) about them. Traditions can be as simple as your school drop off routine or as elaborate as cooking with kids. Traditions create positive memories and experiences for everyone, and help children identify a sense of self and belonging.
Parent Education - COPE Family Support is offering parenting classes in the month of December. Click here for a schedule of classes.
COVID Tests Available- WCSD is continuing efforts to keep schools safe and successful by providing access to no-cost, over-the-counter (OTC)/at-home COVID-19 rapid antigen tests for testing students and school staff returning from Thanksgiving/fall break. CDPH encourages all students and staff to test for COVID-19 before they return to school following Thanksgiving/fall break. Students and staff who test positive should stay home. Please note: While at-home testing is not required, testing remains a critical safety measure to reduce the possibility of an early 2023 surge.
We have two Covid-19 tests for every student available for pick up at the Murwood Office starting Thursday, December 8th. If you have any questions, please reach out to the me directly.
We continue to have resources regarding Covid-19 and health and safety on our district website, you can access that information here.
Thank you,
Monifa
