Recent Winter Highlights
The Girls Hockey Team are Bay State Conference Champions! They beat Weymouth 3-0 last night to earn the program's first league title in over 12 years! Their lone loss this season (1-0 to Braintree) seems a very long time ago. They have two games remaining over February Vacation before they enter the MIAA Tournament, currently sitting at 16-1-3.
Five Wrestlers qualified for States this weekend, which we are very lucky to host in the beautiful Copeland Field House! Mason Pellegri, Conor Walsh, Isaac Remy, Alex Alexis and Kenny Heraldo all qualified by finishing in the Top 5 at Sectionals last weekend. Mason Pellegri (pictured above) took home the Division II Central Sectional Championship at the 182lb weight class for the second straight year! He will look to defend his State Title this weekend!
The Cheer Team qualified for Regionals with their performance in the Bay State Conference Competition last Thursday! They finished second and will...
The Dance Team had their first ever competition last week in Weymouth. They turn their focus to the State Competition in March.

The Ski Team only has one week left in the regular season. A big congratulations to ALL Milton Racers who successfully finished last Thursday’s Slalom race at Blue Hill. In addition, Bowie Garvin (27th & 32nd) and Ben Catudal (10th & 12th) earned high quality points in both races. Let’s all keep cheering for Ben as he continues to climb towards a top-10 seeding in this years State Alpine Championship Race on Feb. 28 at Berkshire East!
A few more skier milestones should be recognized: Kaya earned points in both races, Abbe and Samantha Q. Had comeback 2nd-races and Caroline continued to gain points in every race night this season. Don’t forget all race results and team standings can be found the the league’s website-mbsle.org.

Egan Hall of Fame Induction
On Wednesday Night, the Ski Team and Community celebrated Dan and John Egan at Blue Hills for their Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame induction in the place where it all began.
Dan and his brother John Egan-the Egan Brothers - are famously known for appearing in more than a dozen Warren Miller films where they performed feats like surviving the Iconic “Cornice Break” at Wyoming’s Grand Targhee Resort in 1990, which became the most viewed Warren Miller segment of all time in Miller’s 1990’s film “Extreme Winter”. The Egan family is originally from Milton, Massachusetts, where they all attended Milton High and learned to ski at Blue Hills. Bob Egan (class of ’74) and John Egan (class of ’76) started the Milton High Ski Team in
1972 with coach Paul Ajemian, who still coaches the team and ski instructs at Blue Hills to this day. Dan Egan (class of ’82) was invited to come train with his older brothers despite the age difference.
Dan and John were inducted into the US Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2016 and after years of deliberation decided there was only one place the award should live—where the dreams all began, at Blue Hills Ski Area.

New Varsity Coaching Hires
We are excited to announce that Christopher Chin (far right in picture above) will lead our Boys Volleyball Program in its inaugural season this Spring! Chris played high school volleyball at Brockton High School from 2004-2008, captaining the 2008 team. He went on to play at Newbury College, which was ranked nationally at the time, winning 2 NECC championships along with 2010-11 ECAC championship and serving as a captain his senior season.
After graduating, Chris returned to Newbury College as an Assistant for the Men's and Women’s Programs. He currently coaches the Girls JV Basketball Team and has experience coaching AAU basketball, as well as working numerous skill camps and club volleyball teams. "I am super excited to start a brand new volleyball program, and give back to the game that gave me so much in my life." - Coach Chin
We are equally excited to announce Kevin Gorham as the new Girls Varsity Soccer Coach. Originally from Ireland, Gorham has lived in Milton for the past 12 years. He has spent the last few years working with the Boston Bolts but has also played an active role in Milton Youth Soccer and local youth soccer development. He holds a USSF D Licence and an Advanced National Diploma in Coaching. He has coached at all levels of the game and brings a wealth of experience to the position.
We are excited for him to take over a very young program looking to get back to the tournament!
