China Middle School- Week of February 12
School News and Happenings
Mrs. Lanteigne's social studies students are selling homework passes for $1.00 today and tomorrow during breakfast and lunch as a fundraiser for their KIVA project. Students presented their idea to staff and received approval that the passes would be accepted for classroom homework assignments (at the teachers discretion). All proceeds will go to a small start up business out of Uganda. This loan will allow him to sell clean water in his small community in Africa. So much fun watching these students make someone's dreams happen!
Cereal Drive Challenge
🥣 The China Schools PTO is holding a Cereal Drive and it started last MONDAY!! For the two weeks leading up to February break, advisory teams are challenged to send in 10 boxes of cereal to earn 10 additional advisory points for their team. All donations go to China Food Pantry because... hunger doesn’t take a break! We will join efforts with the primary school and make the biggest cereal box dominoes we can make. Can we beat last year? Let’s make it happen!!
JMG Presents the Harlem Triksterz!
Messalonskee High School Open House Feb. 13th
Dear Parents/Guardians:
We would like to invite you to our annual “Curriculum Night” here at Messalonskee High School.
This year curriculum night will be held on February 13th, Tuesday evening. Curriculum night will begin at 5:30pm. Please plan to report to the PAC upon arrival. We will have a brief informational meeting to start things off. Within this meeting will be a presentation of graduation requirements, course offerings,
extracurricular opportunities and more. We will take some time to explain the 5x5 schedule, the
purpose of guided study as well as answer any questions. After a brief meeting in the PAC, parents
and students will be permitted to explore the high school campus.
This is going to be a fast paced, fun filled evening! Each academic department will have a table set
up in the vicinity of where the majority of classrooms are located. For example, the English
department will be on the second floor where the English classrooms are located. This will allow for
parents to have conversation with teachers about specific course offerings as well as prerequisites
for courses students wish to pursue. We are going to be providing refreshments for all in attendance. We will be raffling gifts throughout the evening. We hope you have the opportunity to make it out to the high school for this event. I am certain both parents and students will learn much about all of the opportunities available to their student(s) as they begin planning for high school.
We hope you will plan to be in attendance! We are looking forward to spending the evening with you
and getting to know you!
It’s a great day to be an Eagle!!
