From the Desk of Pastor Linda
This Sunday come and worship God. Come and praise God with music and voice! Come and sit quietly as you hear lovely music!! Come and refocus your hearts and minds on of the one great, wondrous and powerful God who longs for our attentiveness through faith and love. We hope this week you might worship, here at OLCC,P or where your summer journey may lead you!
As we continue our sermon series , Characters of the Old Testament, we welcome Elijah to our worship space. Elijah was a great and dedicated prophet we have often forgotten about. His name means, "Yahweh is God”. Elijah pushed the prophets of Baal aside and reminded them that there is only one true God. Elijah witnesses the need to worship God and to return the people back to God.
Elijah is bold and courageous as he confronts King Ahab as well as his bride, a Phoenician princess named Jezebel. Our focus this week will be not only on the power and spiritual presence of God but also on the fact that God IS! God is big and wise and walks along side of us through everything!
Continued prayers for the victims of the flood and rain storms, prayers for the anger and hate in the world that is so very toxic and painful, as well as for a peace to be known in our hearts that a great and powerful God is indeed working in our world.
