Smile
Smile. Powerful, yet underrated. Majestic, yet overlooked. The mere mention of the word, smile, makes you want to...smile. 😄 You can literally feel someone's smile; whether it's in person, or on the phone, or via email. That is how powerful it is. Regardless of whether you smile with your mouth, eyes or even your whole body, please know that something (or someone) around you will feel it. Every time. The smile connects us all.

Upcoming Agendas
- Consider Special Use Permits @ 1012 Sunset Strip to establish a short-term vacation rental for 2-years & 107 N. Industrial Road to renew retail use for Blue Sparrow in perpetuity with screening of industrial uses.
- Consider purchase of Vacuum Truck [Funding: Sewer rates] [used for flushing sanitary sewers, storms drains, curb inlets & manholes; also used to vacuum excavate water leaks & assisting in water main repairs. The economic theory of vehicle & equipment replacement maintains that capital costs decline over time while operating costs continue to increase. The combination of these two trends informs when the optimal time is to replace high use vehicles. This strategy is also used for replacement of ambulances & police cars.]
- Consider Change Order with Lamp Rynearson [Funding: $25.3K, CIP] [expanded scope of work on Dunbar, Jesse James overlay].
- Consider agreement with Vireo + GBA to complete Fishing River Watershed Masterplan [Funding: $350K, ARPA] [provides for citizen engagement, partnership with Ray & Clay Counties, creation of implementation plan to lessen flooding in downtown]
- Consider 3-year Cemetery Mowing Services Agreement with Pope's Lawncare [Funding: $37K, Cemetery Lot Sales] [services include mowing, weed-eating between March 1 & November 1]
- Consider implementation of Compensation & Classification Study completed by McGrath Human Resources [Funding: Midwest Public Risk] [evaluated external market & recommended adjustments to offer competitive wages for all positions; new revenue approved by state legislature last session made it possible to compete in the current turbulent labor environment]
Community Center discussion on Phase II scope, schedule & budget, design of dome, storage, aquatic spray ground, & indoor feature updates. Next steps to issue permit drawings by Mid-March, out to bid Mid-April.
