As Blue River Valley's superintendent, I couldn't be more proud of our school board members' efforts and what they accomplished in 2022. This is yet another indication of the quality work we are doing across the district at Blue River Valley. Our board members put in a ton of time throughout 2022, both individually and collectively as a team. Their efforts didn't go unnoticed, and their ISBA EGA recognition is well-deserved!
It has been a long time since the BRV school board has earned such recognition. To earn this distinction, a school board must meet mimimum standards set forth by the ISBA. Under the direction of our board president, Mr. Jon Madison, our board members committed to working toward this level 1 distinction which required a number of different activities, strategic planning retreats, and a board training exercise. All of these standards were accomplished on top of their normal school business.
I have had the opportunity to observe and hear about school boards from all over the state. I can tell you without hesitation that our school board is one of the best. For example, all five of our board members attended the multi-day 2022 ISBA annual fall conference in Indianapolis. This is just one of many commitments and sacrifices that our board members make in leading our school district. They are a quality group of people!
