To promote, protect, and enhance professional school nurse practice through advocacy, evidence-based education, collaboration, and partnerships that support each student’s well-being and readiness to learn.
Candidate for President-Elect
The President-elect shall be elected in even numbered years and shall automatically succeed the office of President at the expiration of the President’s term and shall act for the president in the absence of the president.

Statement of View: I believe in school nursing. I believe that a nurse in every school is what is best for the children of Texas. Research and the meaningful use of data support what we already know, healthy students are better learners. With my experience at both the Regional and State level, I feel I have the knowledge necessary to strengthen our organization and support the strides already made in school nursing.

Statement of View: I believe in helping others and to provide the best care and diligent work ethics to promote optimal client outcomes. Treating others as I would like to be treated has always been a personal goal. I believe that school nurses have the unique opportunity to make a difference not only in a student’s life but in the community by teaching and giving care to all. Strengthening our organization views and values is an honor and a challenge that I am ready to accept. I love advocating for students through outreach and education in the community.

Statement of View: I want to become more actively involved in school nursing at the state level. I want to be a leader for the advancement of school nursing. I have the desire to promote and advance nurses that work in the school setting. I believe that my 13 years as a school nurse will be advantageous to the TSNO. I will use my experience as a school nurse to advance the profession of school nursing in general.
