Principal's Message...
Whether you are new to the Maverick family or a veteran, I'd like to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year. In the spirit of less is more, we will attempt to keep the weekly newsletters as brief as possible (of course Issue 1 is going to be a little longer :). We use this weekly newsletter as a resource for families to learn more about upcoming events, important announcements, along with a space to celebrate some of the great things going on as well. Drive-By Supply Pickup: If you missed the supply pick-up, swing by the office and we will be able to provide you with the resources. This is for K-5 students only.
Mrs. Holewinski Joins the TC Elementary Staff: A big Maverick welcome to Mrs. Holewinski who will be joining us from Tustin Ranch Elementary to teach 4th grade. Since 2001, Mrs. Holewinski has been in TUSD and we are excited to have her on board.

Mrs. Gullo Welcome Aboard: We are excited to welcome Mrs. Gullo as the newest edition to the Maverick staff. Mrs. Gullo has been in TUSD since 19995 and joins us from Orchard Hills where she spent the last ten years. We are excited to have her!

School Site Council
At Back to School Night, we reached out for volunteers to join our School Site Council. The Council meets 5 times over the course of the school year on the following dates:
Fridays at 8:30 AM.
9/10, 10/15, 2/4, 4/15, and 5/13
As background information, School Site Council (SSC) must be established at all Tustin Unified School District Schools. The elected members represent parents, students, community members, and school staff in school governance. The SSC is responsible for the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and school site categorical funds. The SSC is expected to:
- Review the District’s LCAP and LEA Plan.
- Review and analyze student data.
- Solicit community input and develop a needs assessment.
- Assist the principal in developing SPSA.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the SPSA on an ongoing basis.
- Approve the SPSA before it is submitted to the District for final review and Board of Education approval.
