Carver's Weekly Update
Week of Monday, October 10, 2022
Second Quarter Begins.....
Thank you for all of your support during the first quarter of our school year. We are now in the second quarter. First quarter report cards will be sent through the mail and through email to all parents on Friday, October 14. Teachers will be available for conferences on Thursday, October 20 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Please call into our main office (843-664-8156) to schedule an appointment to meet with your child's teacher. I want to encourage all parents of students in grades 1-5 to download the PowerSchool Parent Portal app. This app will enable you to view your child's grades, attendance, and meal balance daily.
A few reminders....
- All students should be in class by 7:45 AM each day. Students are considered late if they are still in the car line at this time. The traffic cones will be placed in the car line at 7:40 AM. This is when the car line will officially be shut down. Please drop off car riders prior to this time. Students will receive referrals when they are tardy or late to class. Tardy referrals will be enforced this quarter.
- Students should never be dropped off in the parking lot. It is too dangerous to allow children to walk in the parking lot without adult supervision. Parents who go to the parking lot in the mornings should park and walk their children to the crosswalk. Available parking space for parents may be found in the first row of the parking lot.
- Students will need to charge their chromebooks each night and bring their chromebooks to school daily. We have a limited supply for students to borrow during the school day.
- Students may have water bottles filled with water at school and in class(if allowed by the teacher). I'm asking that students refrain from bringing any other type of drink that could spill on the carpet (especially on the new carpet in the 5K and first grade classrooms) and create stains. Students may have juice or other drinks while in the cafeteria for breakfast or lunch only.
- Parents of bus riders, please take a moment to review the consequences for misbehaving on the bus with your children. A student may be denied the use of the school bus for misbehavior.
