We are constantly working to improve our grading practices and consistency. As a part of this process, the corporation grading committee has adopted some changes to elementary grade reporting in grades 2-5. Please see the changes below. Starting with your students' first report card for quarter 1, these will be the reporting criteria.

We are in need of sidewalk chalk for our next School Wide Fun Activity. If you can donate a large container for a classroom, please sign up here and have to school by Wednesday, Sept. 13.

In addition, First Grade is beginning a service project! Please see their message below.

Dear Olive Families,

The first grade is spending time learning about what it means to be a great citizen in social studies. We also have been learning about living and nonliving things in science. In social studies, we have had many conversations about how great citizens are respectful and responsible. We found that it would be a great idea to have our students take pride in being responsible around our school community. To practice our citizenship roles in acting responsibly, we would love to help take care of our school; our home away from home. First grade students want to place bird feeders around the school to take care of the animals and also practice our great citizenship roles by refilling and tending to the feeders . This would be an all year, hands-on activity, for our first graders. Our students will help care for the bird feeders while also learning about citizenship and animal life cycles.

If you would like to contribute, we are asking for several donations from families. Please sign up here if you can help supply the needed materials for this project!

• Please be sure that all transportation changes for the day are made by 1 pm. It is very difficult to ensure changes occur after that time.
• Please do not drop your students off anywhere on the school grounds before school personnel is on duty. The official start time for all staff is 7 am. Please wait with your student until this time. This is for the safety of your children.
• Please be sure to not "cut in the pick up line." This can be frustrating to those who have been waiting patiently in line.
• Remember to get your background checks in for the year. Background checks must be turned in at LEAST 7 school days in advance to ensure you can participate in whatever activity you were hoping to join us for. Click here to fill yours out today!

Popcorn Fundraiser Delivery Volunteers (date to be determined Wednesday)- This one will be updated soon.

Materials for the Fall Fundraiser were sent home last Friday. If you are able to participate, we appreciate your support! Orders and money are due on Friday, Sept. 8. The picture below is of our newly remodeled and furnished Tiger Den. This space is used for student and staff in a variety ways. Students use this space throughout the day for small and large group activities. Adults use this space for meetings and collaboration space! Thank you for your current and previous support in our fundraisers to offer this amazing space as well as many other things to help support our students.
