Our concert is this week! Please see below for times and where to drop off your children. They have been practicing very hard for this concert and are excited to share with you all they have been working on.

A big "thank you" to our Riverview and Wausau community for the support in our Penny War for Emmett. Our fourth grade "won" the Penny War and will have a hot chocolate and pajama day coming soon (see points below). We will reveal to our school and Emmett's family how much was fundraised next Friday.

Pop-Up Cookie Sale

The PTO is hosting a fun and well-timed fundraiser where "decorate-your-own" cookie kits can be purchased! Kits will include undecorated cookies, several colors of icing, and sprinkles. More info will be coming home with students in a flier and also in a separate email from the PTO this week. Kits will be ready for pickup right before Valentine's Day!

Spring Flower Sale

We will once again hold a flowering plant fundraiser in the coming months. More info will be sent out in the coming weeks!

Playground Enhancements

The PTO has funds from the 2023 spring flower fundraiser that are allocated to playground enhancements. We will be purchasing new footballs, playground/four square balls, jump ropes, chalk, and snow toys, as well as collaborating with facilities management to modernize our basketball hoops and to apply stenciling on the playground blacktop this spring. Watch for more updates in the coming months!

Spring Fest Volunteers Needed

We are in search of a Project Lead for our Spring Fest that will be held on Tuesday, 5/7/2024. If you are interested in leading this endeavor, you will be supported with many volunteers to assist! Please email the PTO if you are interested!

On February 26-28th we will be having our Hearing Screening for all 4k - 5th grade, as well as Vision screening for all 4k .

Just a reminder if your child is not feeling well to Please keep them home until they are feeling better and Please follow these guidelines from the WSD for illnesses:

Students may be excluded from school for communicable disease control for the following conditions:

• Undiagnosed or untreated skin rash or sores that cannot be covered

• Fever (temperature 100.4ºF or greater or if behaviors such as excessive sleepiness or coughing which might be interfering with the student’s learning). Child must be fever-free without fever medicine for 24 hours before returning to school

• Vomiting more than once in the previous 24 hours. Child must not have vomited in the past 24 hours before returning to school.

• Diarrhea three times in the previous 24 hours or child is incontinent (has an “accident”)

• Upper respiratory illness with frequent cough/drainage

• "Pinkeye” (conjunctivitis) if accompanied by fever, behavioral change or inability to avoid touching eyes. (Antibiotics not required for return).

• Strep throat (until 24 hours after treatment has begun, or health practitioner approval) *

• Students whose immunization status is not in compliance with the Wisconsin Immunization Law

• Students with known suppressed immunity may be excluded, for their protection, when cases of communicable disease (i.e., measles, chickenpox) occur in school

A reminder that all medication, prescription or over-the-counter, (i.e., ibuprofen, Tylenol, Tums, cold medication, cough drops) must be kept in the Health Office during the school day with a medication consent form filled out.

We are no longer tracking Covid cases in school or following any separate protocols for Covid. Please refer to the Wausau School District illness guidelines listed above when choosing to send your child to school with an illness. District absence policies will be followed for any illnesses.
