Helmer Nature Center
Owl Prowl at HNC
Meet Sherlock, our Eastern Screech Owl, and learn about the amazing adaptations that allow owls to hunt at night and how to identify our local species by sight or sound. Then join us on a nighttime walk under a nearly full moon as we walk through the woods, call to the owls, and listen for owl activity.
Dates: Friday Sept 29 7-9pm, Saturday Sept 30 4-6pm (family program, all ages welcome!), OR Saturday Sept 30 7-9pm
Ages: Please note that the Friday and Saturday evening program are for adults and students 8 years and up. The Saturday afternoon program from 4-6pm is open to all ages and families!
Price: $5 members/$10 non-members
Registration is required and spots are limited. Due to the popularity of this event, we are offering multiple dates, please specify your preferred date when registering. Fall Harvest Festival
We are getting ready for the annual Fall Harvest Festival. Join us on Sunday October 15th from 1pm-4pm for festivals games and activities, crafts, pony rides, live music, and demonstrations including an inflatable obstacle course, water rockets, and HNC animal encounters.

3rd Thursday Program Series
Helmer Nature Center is an outdoor classroom and trail system conserved and preserved by the West Irondequoit School District since 1973. Our trails are open dawn to dusk 7 days a week; please note that dogs are not allowed on our sports fields or trails.
