Spotlight on Learning in the Classroom!
In 5th Grade
5th graders have been hard at work!! In math, we have been working really hard on understanding, representing, and solving decimals. We wrapped up unit two right before our November break with our Unit 2 test! Starting in December, we’ll begin multiplying and dividing fractions!
In Reading, we are finishing Unit 1; we read, discussed, & wrote about several books and reading selections all with a common theme….Depending on Each Other. It was a perfect way to begin the school year as 5th graders depend on each other for learning new things and we are now moving into Unit 2 - Finding Courage. We’re making it count in fifth grade!!
Pre-Order Your School Year Book

Breakfast and Lunch
There is no charge for breakfast or lunch for Baltz students. Additionally, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable snacks will be provided to all students twice a week. Other snacks may be available for students to purchase during lunches.
Please encourage your child to wear their lanyard to lunch, this makes movement through the line much more efficient than if students key their Student IDs in at the register.
In Accordance with Red Clay Nutrition Guidelines:
Currently, students in Grades 2-5 are able to purchase 1 snack, 1 dessert, & 1 drink, daily.
New Note!
For November, we are restricting the 2nd graders to just purchasing 1 item. They can choose to buy a drink, or a snack, or a dessert. Right now, it is hard for them to manage all of the choices and get their lunch eaten, too so we will limit the number items they can purchase through November in order to get time in the Cafeteria running more smoothly. Thank you for your understanding.
