CCA Eagle Newsletter
January 3 - January 7
March 7, 2022
There will be no Eagle Newsletter next Monday due to Spring Break.
Upcoming Board Election
Each year in May, CCA holds an election for our Board of Directors. There will be 3 open positions. 2 of the requirements to be considered as a CCA Board member are:
Potential candidates must attend a minimum of two (2) regular CCA Board meetings during the nine (9) months prior to the April Board meeting. The February & March Board meetings are eligible meetings for this requirement.
Potential candidates must interview with at least one (1) current Board member prior to the nomination form submittal deadline.
The candidate forms and biography forms will be shared March 28, 2022. For the complete Election Procedure Packet please see attached.
Need to change your email before the election?
Due to an update with Powerschool in the District, the only way for you to change your email addresses and phone numbers as of right now is to contact the school and have us change them manually. This is crucial to know with an election coming up as the ballot is only delivered to the emails on file in Powerschool. If you would like to change your email please fill out this quick google form or if you have any questions, please feel free to email Rachel Brooks at rbrooks@cherrycreekacademy.org.
Weekly Newsletters
Intent to Return to CCA
Dear Cherry Creek Academy Families,
In order to ensure Cherry Creek Academy has an accurate count for the next school year, we ask that you please take the time to complete this Intent to Return Form and 2022-2023 Enrollment Form. Please note that if you indicate a child is not returning, this acts as a withdrawal form with an effective date of the last day of school. Please direct any questions or concerns to Sandra Yoon at admissions@cherrycreekacademy.org. The deadline for the re-enrollment is March 25, 2022.
Pi Day 2022 - Middle School
Each year we celebrate the mathematical constant Pi (π), 3.1415...with a variety of competitions and festivities. This year due to health concerns we will be having our celebrations in math class in 5th - 8th grade. While we will still be learning about Pi and all its applications we will NOT be having any parent volunteer opportunities and will NOT have a need for any sweet treats to be brought in. We hope to return to our usual festivities next year.
8th Grade Parents...We Still Need Pictures!
Each year we do a graduation video featuring your child and we need your help collecting images for that video. Please fill out this short google form about your graduating 8th grader where you will submit 1 baby/toddler photo and 1 current photo of your student for the video. Thank you in advance for helping us celebrate your children!
Know a high school senior interested in applying for the 2022 CCA Foundation scholarship?
Each year, the Cherry Creek Academy Foundation awards a one-time academic scholarship of $1,000 to a high school senior who attended CCA. If you know a graduating senior who is interested in applying for the 2022 scholarship award to support future studies, please encourage them to make sure their current email address is on file in PowerSchool at My.cherrycreekschools.org. CCA alumni graduating in 2022 should expect to receive instructions via email on how to apply for the CCA Foundation scholarship by mid March. Seniors no longer in the Cherry Creek District remain eligible and may email their contact information to scholarshipcommittee@cherrycreekacademy.org.
Coming soon, Cherry Creek Reads 2022!
Get Ready for Cherry Creek Reads 2022
Get ready to read! Cherry Creek School District will celebrate the joy of reading during Cherry Creek Reads 2022, coming up March 7-11, 2022.
The theme for the week is “Read Together, Better Together” and is based on the book Packs: Strength in Numbers by Hannah Salyer. It’s a captivating nonfiction book about the power of togetherness and strength in teamwork, a message that continues to be meaningful as we navigate a school year where connectedness is so important.
Across our district, students, parents, teachers, staff, friends and family members are encouraged to read for 67 minutes or more during Cherry Creek Reads 2022. That represents one minute for every Cherry Creek school. The goal is simple: to create a community of readers and foster a lifelong love of reading. Thank you to members of our CCSD Library Leadership Team for organizing this event and to CCEA for donating a book for each school library!
At Cherry Creek Academy during Cherry Creek Reads 2022, we will:
Read for 67 minutes March 7-11-- I am sending home papers for students to complete this at home. Classroom reading counts as well!
Read & discuss Packs: Strength in Numbers by Hannah Salyer during library classes for K-4. Middle school teachers can share the video of the author reading the book during homeroom: Author reading of Packs
Please see Mrs. Lanyi in the library for any questions.
Thank you for helping to support this reading celebration!

New Volunteer Process
New Colorado legislation has prompted greater need to screen and document volunteers in our schools. Therefore, beginning January 2022, we must ensure that every person entering CCA must have a CCA staff badge or a visitor badge printed from the Raptor System. Please be sure to have your identification on you so that you can share that with Ms. Sadie if you need to enter CCA. Using the raptor system Ms. Sadie will then print a Raptor ID badge for you.
CCSD is also requiring that every volunteer complete a brief application to support activities in CCSD schools. This application links directly to CCSD's raptor system.
To access the new form, please click on the following link: https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NzU0OmVuLVVT
If you need help filling out this new form, please call CCSD Communication Services at 720-554-4475. We thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe!
