October is National Bully Prevention Month. Our counselors have been sharing how important it is for us to stop bullying during their counseling lessons this month. This week is our Anti-Bullying Spirit Week. Please see the flyer below.
We will engage in a Severe Weather drill on Thursday, 10/26/23. Our Drop, Cover and Hold On drill has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 10/31/23. Here is the video students have watched about Drop, Cover and Hold. This video also includes information on evacuation and shelter. If you have any questions about emergency drills, please let us know..
Mother FIgure Monday is on 10/23/23. This is an opportunity for mothers and mother figures, who are important in the lives of our students, to visit classes to see how and what their students are learning. Please let us know you are coming by clicking on the link below:
Fall Festival parties are Friday, 10/27/23. Parties begin as follows:
- Kindergarten - 12:00pm
- Grade 1 - 2:30pm
- Grade 2 - 2:40pm
- Grade3 - 2:30pm
- Grade 4 - 1:30pm
- Grade 5 - 2:00pm
Please contact your homeroom teacher and/or room parent for more information.
Trunk or Treat is also Friday, 10/27/23 at WLES. Please see the flyer below. You can sign up to decorate a trunk or to sit at a table and hand out goodies. The event is from 6:00-7:00pm. Cars and tables can be decorated beginning at 5:30pm.
MCPS created a new guide to help families, students and teachers work together to ensure student success. The Pathway to College, Career and Community Readiness helps identify students’ strengths and areas of improvement to ensure each student receives the support they need.
