TEA Extending the 2019-2021 School Safety and Security Grant
TEA will be extending 2019-2021 School Safety and Security Grant period to 05/31/2022.
This grant provides funding to public schools for additional safety and security equipment (campus hardening).
Behavioral Threat Assessment/SSSP
Districts should collect and maintain SSSP team information and data for the 2020-2021 school year for activities that occurred from September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2021.
TEA will send a Qualtrics survey requesting information to Superintendents in November 2021.

Region 3 ESC Safe and Supportive Schools Summit
Region 3 ESC will be hosting a virtual 2 day summit that will showcase sessions related to school safety and the safe and supportive schools program (SSSP from SB11). Topics will include updates on SB11 and SSSP, school mental health initiatives, suicide prevention and intervention, digital technology concerns, bullying prevention, maintaining safe schools, cyber-safety, human trafficking, and much more!

Texas School Safety Virtual Conference
Save the date for the 2021 Virtual Texas School Safety Conference on June 29-30, 2021.
Themed Texas Strong: Resiliency Through Change, the conference will bring together educators, administrators, school-based law enforcement, and emergency managers to collaborate, network, and learn from each other.
