During November, we pause to give thanks. As we count our blessings, we have your children and your families at the top of our lists! Thank you for allowing us to share in your child's educational experience here at Vernon Township High School. It is a true honor watching them grow into gifted young women and men.

At Vernon Township High School, we will continue to focus on the New Jersey Social and Emotional Learning Competencies and Sub-Competencies during the 2019-2020 school year.

Mrs. Foco and Mr. Falkowski, both Vernon Township High School teachers, were selected as 2019 New Jersey Exemplary Educators. We are very proud of both of them and would like to acknowledge that they have been honored by the New Jersey Department of Education for their fine work.

Congratulations to our students who worked diligently this semester to earn Honor Roll status.

Congratulations to our cheerleaders for taking first place at both a Randolph High School competition and a West Milford competition. Our cheerleaders were also named Overall Grand Champions in West Milford!

On the evening before Thanksgiving Mr. Bray and Mrs. Coesfeld welcomed visitors who wanted to see the Wall of Honor, dedicated to Vernon Township Veterans. Thank you, one and all, for your efforts to honor our veterans!

School Reopens

In conjunction with the Vernon Township Police Department and the Vernon Township Board of Education, we are proud to continue our new Safe Driving Initiative for the 2019-2020 school year.

Our final presentation for the 2019-2020 school year will be held in February for all student drivers who neglected to attend one of the three presentations offered during the summer and early fall.

This will be the final opportunity to attend a Share the Keys presentation for the current school year. Once each student driver and a parent/guardian have attended a presentation, they will receive a certificate, which must be presented when applying for a VTHS parking pass.The final presentation date and time will be announced shortly!

Student safety is of our utmost concern and students driving on campus poses potential hazards to our students, staff, and visitors.

We believe that attending this program with your child will help instill a sense of importance and responsibility that comes with sitting behind the wheel, whether driving to campus or anywhere else.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation!

The price of this year's Holiday Formal has been reduced to $25!

Come out and support this "new" event sponsored by the sophomore class for a night of great music, dancing and food with your friends.

This is more like a dance than a "formal." There is no need to buy fancy dresses or wear a suit! Wear your holiday best and have a fun night out at Vernon Township High School.
