Defenders - Defining Excellence Everyday
May 19, 2024
Notes from our Principal
Hello Driscoll community,
There are only nine school days left of the 2023-2024 school year. Wow! The final few days are extremely busy with many events planned. We began distributing award ceremony invitations on Friday. We will continue to pass those out on Monday and Tuesday to students who are receiving honors at the ceremonies the following week.
On Tuesday, May 21, we will take the End of Year (EOY) MAP Science test and will be using the data to review the growth that students have made this year. We will be on an adjusted bell schedule for the testing day and it is pictured below.
Clara Driscoll Middle School PTA is calling a special membership meeting as per our bylaws for the purpose of elections, appointing the 2024-25 bank signers, and appointing a financial reconciliation committee. Our special membership meeting will be held in the Driscoll library on May 22 at 6 PM. Current members may vote. We are still looking for a parent/guardian who might be interested in serving as the PTA president next year. Please reach out to Mrs. Murach at lmurac@neisd.net if you are interested in serving in this role.
There are several concerts and performances this week from our Fine Arts department. Our Athletics department is also holding a meeting for future athletes on Monday and also hosting a fundraiser at Rusty Taco on Wednesday evening. Please review the dates and times in the looking ahead section below.
Our 7th grade Field Day is planned for May 23 and Ms. Jocz, our 7th grade team leader, is looking for a few parental volunteers to assist with the field day events. There is a graphic below with more details or you can email kjocz@neisd.net if you have additional questions regarding the 7th grade field day. Donations are also being accepted for this event. Our 8th grade End of Year Party will be Friday, May 24, and we emailed out a flyer this past week with requests for volunteers and snack donations. If you are able to assist, please reach out to Mr. Meagher, smeagh@neisd.net
Please review the many details included in this week's Driscoll News. If you have specific questions, please reach out so we can assist with those items. We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events.

Driscoll's Art Night was a Fun New Tradition
Thank you to all who attended the Art Night on Thursday. It was a fun new tradition that we plan to hold each year. The silent auction, painting of a mural, splatter paint art, and circle art was a great deal of fun. Our students are so talented and art is just one way that we see those talents come out.
