The Corley Cheer
Community Edition
January 4, 2023
I hope this newsletter finds your family well and that your Winter break was a wonderful one. I continue to be so proud of our students and the hard work they do each day. In addition, as I continue to walk in and out of classrooms on a daily basis, I am in awe of the dedicated staff here at Corley who work hard to provide challenging and engaging lessons for our students.
Corley Elementary is lucky to have THE BEST group of teachers and staff. We are so thankful for the staff members at Corley as they have ensured that your Corley Scholar has the best level of support, dedication, and instruction. We are so excited to welcome your student into the building on January 5th. We have reached the midpoint of the year and look forward to even better memories in 2023.
Please take the time to rest and spend quality time with your students as they near their return date on January 5th. Corley Elementary is ready to start the second semester as we collaborate with you to ensure that your students are taking the best steps to their greatness!
Proud to be your principal,

AMAZING Assistant Principal Announcements
Corley Elementary School is thrilled to announce several leadership accomplishments. Our very own, Ms. Tamison Yancy, was just appointed as the Assistant Principal of Rock Springs Elementary. Ms. Yancy has supported Corley for over 8 years in many capacities that all link to the best support for each and every student. Tamison will officially begin her role at Rock Springs on January 17, 2023. Until then, she will be at Corley, conducting meetings with specific members of the Special Education team to close out on procedures, protocol, and more.
We are also VERY excited about the addition of two Assistant Principals at Corley Elementary. Ms. Mendieta Hudson and Ms. Ervin are proud members of the Aspiring Leader Program and are eager to build relationships and make memories with your students at Corley. Both of the new Assistant Principals are briinging a wealth of expertise and knowledge to support our Corley Scholars.
We are SO HAPPY for Ms. Yancy, Ms. Mendieta Hudson and Ms. Ervin as they start their journey in GCPS Leadership!
