This Week's Highlights
- David Grann, Rye Neck parent and best-selling author, came to the PAC on Wednesday to speak to juniors and seniors who saw the film version of his book, Killers of the Flower Moon on Monday. Mr. Grann shared personal anecdotes about the genesis of the book and some insights on the adaptation process. After the presentation, Mr. Grann answered student questions, which went well into the next period! A good time was had by all! We are so grateful to Mr. Grann for sharing his time with us! - Gardening at night! Students are preparing the soil for the long winter ahead in the Memory Garden in the new courtyard created between E corridor and the Collaborative Science Center. See pics here.
- On the dotted line! On Wednesday, November 8, National Letter of Intent Day, Clare Piccone officially signed to play softball at Monmouth College! Clare, her family, her coaches and all her teammates celebrated this major milestone with a ceremony after school in the Community Room. Clare is keeping the Rye Neck tradition alive! See pics here.
- On the Road! Congratulations to Ainara Schube Barriola and Phoebe Carmel for qualifying for the NY State Championship Cross Country meet!!! They head to Vernon-Verona-Sherill HS on November 11th to run in the state championship race! Good luck to Coach Scalise, Phoebe and Ainara!! See pic here.

- Ms. Mackin's juniors consider blame in Act 1 of The Crucible in a mock trial setting! Students either function as prosecutors, or as jury members weighing the culpability of particular characters. See pic here.

The NY Thespians Regional One Act Competition scheduled for November 18th has been cancelled. The organization is hosting a larger NYC competition later in the year. We will keep you posted.

Strategic Plan: If you have not had the chance to complete the survey sent out last week, please do so by November 19th. Strategic Plan Survey for High School Parents.
- The Library Cafe is back! The Cafe is open daily from 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. and serves snacks, beverages, salads, grab and go sandwiches and wraps.
