WorkKeys Wednesday is back!
Starting next week, BHS and BTEC teachers will be bringing back WorkKeys Wednesdays!
What it is: WorkKeys was designed for Career and Technical Education Centers. The WorkKeys exam, given in spring of a student's senior year, allows a student to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
How it works: Students are given two WorkKeys questions as class bellwork (an assignment to begin class). If a student answers both questions correctly, his or her name is entered into the weekly drawing for mouth-watering cookies at the BTEC Snack Shack.
Why it matters: NCRC is a valuable credential that demonstrates a person's workplace readiness. The NCRC is earned by taking three standardized assessments - Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents. Each assessment is allowed 55 minutes. Participants may take all three assessments at one time or split the testing over multiple days. Participants can earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum NCRC from ACT.
NCRC Benefits:
- Impressive on a student's resume
- Shows employers an accurate picture of the student's current skill set
- ACT is internationally recognized
- NCRC is nationally recognized

We are excited to provide this valuable practice for your student's future success.
