DISTRICT PROMISE
Progress Monitoring
If you have not done so already, please take time to review grades from first quarter that were mailed home. It may seem like a long ways away, but there are only 35 school days left in the first semester. For LHHS students, the first semester grades will be the grades put on student transcripts. We want all students at LA/LHHS to have a passing grade by the end of first semester.
To view student current grades and any missing work, please login to Skyward (link below). Students needing additional assistance in a class can reach out to their teacher and ask for additional support. Teacher contact information can also be found below.
Need Additional Support?
We are here to support every student in their learning. Our teachers are available before and after school (7:10-7:40 AM and 2:10-2:40 PM) to provide additional support if needed. Below are teachers' contact information if you need to ask any questions or need assistance.

Keep up the routine of attendance this year
We pride ourselves on being a welcoming place for our students each day — and we're excited to see everyone back in the classroom on Monday!
However, we are still seeing higher-than-normal absenteeism among our students as we continue to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please take steps to keep your child healthy and send them to school unless they are truly sick.
Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers. It is essential to encourage the best possible attendance. Good attendance, of course, leads to strong academic growth.
If your family or your child needs support, please reach out us at school or visit our website for links to family resources, health supports, and more.
More ways to learn about our levy
Last week, the district launched a weekly informational newsletter that delves deeper into different aspects of our upcoming replacement levy. Read the first in the series of levy newsletters HERE.
The district's goal is to provide factual information for voters.
In addition, there are several in-person public levy information sessions remaining on the calendar between now and Election Day on Feb. 13. You can rewatch our event from this past Monday on our Facebook page.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS!!!
Charge your Chromebook
- It is important that students come to school everyday with their Chromebooks charged so they can participate in electronic assignments. We do not have additional charges or Chromebooks to lend out if Chromebooks are not charged. Please make sure Chromebooks are plugged in every night so they are fully charged for the next school day.
Yearbooks are on sale now
- You can pre-order yearbooks from our office for $25 each. Please call our office at 360-629-1340 if you have any questions.
Credit retrieval every Tuesday after school
- After-school Credit retrieval is every Tuesday throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity for students to retrieve credits to be on track for graduation. Below are the credits each grade level should have at this time of the year. For students who do not have the minimum number of credits listed below to be on track for graduation, please see Christy Thompson, counselor, to sign up for credit retrieval. Credits students should have to be on track for graduation:
- 9th Grade: Students are not expected to have any credits at this time since they just started high school. At the end of 1st semester, 9th grade students will need to have 3 credits to be on track for graduation.
- 10th Grade: 6 credits
- 11th Grade: 12 credits
- 12th Grade: 18 credits
