If your student needs to leave campus for any reason, please call / email / send a note to the Attendance Office, giving as much prior notice as possible. A pass will be delivered to your student during one of their classes. This pass is shown to staff to show that the student has permission to leave campus at the time stated on the pass.

Interested in earning community service hours, meeting new people, and helping out in volunteer events? A new club called Students for a Better Community has started and would love your help, along with getting community service hours towards graduation requirements. They'll be meeting on Thursday 9/22 in room 306 during lunch to take their club photo, and ensure sign ups before their first group volunteer event this Friday. Speech & Debate meets in room 401 every Monday and Wednesday after school.
You'll have the opportunity to perform a speech you have written about a topic you care about, or one that was written by someone else in Speech. You'll get to research and collaborate with others to discuss mock legislation and the impact it might have in Student Congress. You'll be able to work alone, or with a partner, to articulate and defend a solution to a current issue in Debate.
Never considered yourself a public speaker? Don't worry, we'll help you develop public speaking skills you can use throughout the rest of your life.
Our first competition is Congressional Debate on October 8th.

ELKS TEENAGER OF THE MONTH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Oceano/Five Cities Elks Lodge #2504 selects an AGHS senior male and female each month based on achievements, character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastics. The Teenager of the Month will be recognized at an Elk’s dinner and will then be eligible for selection of "Teenager of the Year". Monthly for the 22'23 School Year - Completed application should be submitted to Brianna.boyd@lmusd.org. Students only need to apply once. If your application is not chosen in a given month, it will be considered for the following month. The sooner you turn in an application, the more opportunities you will have for selection. At the end of April, we have a panel of Elks Members judge the Student of the Month Applications. From this pool, we will select one male and one female who will each receive a college scholarship.
