A Message from GQES Administration!
Chameleons RISE: Raising Intentionality Strengthening Expectations for students, teachers, administration, and families.
Dear GQES Families,
Hello! We hope you and your family are well and are ready for a holiday break! Remember, 12/21/23 is an early release of 11:45am. This is our last week together because we have no school on 12/22/23-1/7/24. We return to school on Monday, January 8, 2024!
We want to invite you to come watch our Clashing of the Carolers presentation led by Ms. Edwards, our music teacher on Thursday, 12/21/23 promptly at 9:00am. Parents need to come to school early-----it takes time for all parents to go through our Ident-A-Kid safety system. Bring your identification (driver's license with you.) Parents will sit on chairs at the back of the gym. BE PATIENT with our process, so we can make sure everyone is safe.
AFTER the presentation, parents will remain in the gym, seated while students are dismissed.
Once all classes are back in classrooms, we will start our dismissal procedure.
Over the holidays, we suggest you spend time talking and listening with your child and reading and writing together! Even, throw in a little math, too! For ideas, see
Ways to help your child be successful
Always, always support your child learning to BE KIND by encouraging your child to show our expectations at GQES:
- smiling faces,
- listening ears,
- helping hands,
- respecting boundaries
- trying our best on all learning tasks.

Working on writing during library!
Students were talking and then, sketching and writing about their favorite parts of Jan Brett's book during Ms. Grove's library lesson being kind.
Getting a bit of help to start the day!
Ms. Edwards is helping a friend who is having a rough morning, get a better start for her day!
Ms. Grove, our librarian sharing a holiday story!
The pictures inside any Jan Brett book are amazing as the border edges predict and give clues about the story. Parents may enjoy reading these books to their children!
