School Council Meeting
School Council Meeting
On March 8, 2022, at 7:00 pm, we will host a virtual school council meeting through Zoom. Parents and guardians play an important role in student success. School councils allow parents to participate in decisions that impact student learning. By contributing knowledge, perspective, and ideas at school council meetings, parents actively contribute to the success of the school community.
If you are interested in joining, please email Pam Boyson, the Chair of our School Council at ecksparentcouncil@gmail.com to request the Zoom link.
Student - Parent - Teacher Conferences
When: Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
How: As you know, student-parent-teacher conferences have looked different this past year. In October, we did our conferences through Google Meet. While we continue to transition to more in-person opportunities, we will be running a hybrid model for our March conferences. We will offer both in-person conferences at ECKS and virtually through Google Meet. You may choose what’s best for your family and situation.
Focus: As always, the focus of our conferences is on connection. We want you, as parents/guardians, along with your child, to lead the conversation. It is a great opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and to discuss learning strategies.
Who: We are hopeful that parents/guardians, along with their children, can be part of the conferences.
How: If you are interested in booking a conference appointment, you can reach out to your child’s teacher via email. You can access the ÉCKS Staff Directory here. The teacher will then provide you with a 10-minute time and either for an in person conference or schedule a Google Meet invite for the evening of March 23, using your child’s school email address. In either case, we strongly encourage your child to be present in the conversation. As we will be offering both platforms, it will be important to schedule your conference with your teacher ahead of time.
PowerSchool: Please continue to log into PowerSchool for access to your child’s achievement. PowerSchool tutorials are available here for your perusal and please reach out to the main office if you are needing support.
