Cardinal Family Connection
Family Newsletter for September 2023
Principal's Message
09/01/2023
Greetings, Cardinal Families!
It is September, which means, hopefully, the heat will die down, and we can get the lovely fall breeze and brisk temperatures. This past month our staff and students have been working on routines and getting our school schedules back in place. We sincerely appreciate your assistance in laying the foundation for these routines, thereby fostering an environment where our students can flourish. Thank you to our K-5 learning coaches and partners (that means you - parents/family in the home), for setting our little ones on path for success. To our 6-8 families, just a reminder that our goal is to be "on track" in the Edgenuity program. Hopefully, you have activated the family portal in Edgenuity and opted in to the Weekly updates to see your student's progress. If you need help with this, please contact your teacher.
Attendance
Just a reminder that students need to be logged in (not idle) for a minimum of 30 minutes a day and submit one assignment in order to receive attendance credit for the day. Of course, the expectation is that our students will be working more than the minimum in order to be on track and successful in this program. Students, your success is determined by you. John C. Maxwell said, “The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda”. He believes that if you make a few key decisions and manage them well in your daily agenda, you will succeed. He also said, “The only adequate preparation for tomorrow is the right use of today”. You got this, Cardinals!
Specialized Classes
Please note that some students may have been assigned additional classes outside of the Edgenuity program. Your presence at these meetings is required and a state mandate. These classes are designed to give students support with learning English and/or individual work for students with IEPs. If your teacher has not reached out to you, please let us know so we can connect you with them.
Advisory Committee
We will be putting together an Advisory Committee for our charter. We need parents, students, and staff that are interested. If you are interested, please fill out the interest form here:

Our students are doing great things here at our school. Let's continue to support them to move them forward. Thank you for entrusting us with your precious students.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Annabelle Lee
