News, Reminders & Updates: 12/17

Good Morning E.L.M. Families,

Happy Friday! The holidays are just around the corner and we have a short, but fun week planned for next week.

Next Week at a Glance:

Mon. 12/20 - Ugly Sweater Day - Santa's Workshop - Pediatric Vaccine Clinic 3:00-5:00pm.

Tues. - 12/21 - Red & Green Day

Wed. - 12/22 - Pajama Day! After Care & PreK payments due today for the week of 1/3- 1/7.

Thurs. 12/23 - No School Today - Shop Local for those last-minute gifts.

Fri. 12/24 - Christmas Eve - Don't forget to leave those cookies for Santa!

* Please take a read of an important letter below from Superintendent Franzoni regarding school safety.

* The classrooms will have holiday celebrations on Wednesday afternoon. Santa Leo will visit and provide students with a small gift provided by our generous PTG. They will also provide treats and drinks, so we will not need any treats sent in from home.

* The PTG will host a Santa's Workshop on Monday. Students will be able to purchase small gifts for the immediate family members. The cost for these items will be $.25 each. We recommend placing your child's money in an envelope with their name on them.

* Ski Families: Ski forms and payments are due today. Please note that today will also be the last day for accepting any new skiers. Ski Club will begin on Friday, January 7th.

* We will welcome Nurse Tylor Gosselin, RN to the Emma Miller staff on Monday, January 3rd. Nurse Tylor's hours will remain the same 8:30-1:30pm, and her email will be tgosselin@savoyelementary.com, if you need to contact her for any reason.

* Due to the holiday next week the Friday Family newsletter will resume on Friday, December 31st.

* Please note that will be out of school every morning until 10:00am, through mid-January. Contact Miss Anderson and your child's classroom teacher directly, if you need anything.

Planning Ahead:

* After Care Families - Please note that there will be no After Care available on Friday, January 14th, so staff can participate in CPR training on that day.

* We have a half day of school every Friday during them months of January & February. The January calendar is below. We will also send home a copy next week.

* The School Committee will meet on Monday, January 3rd at 5:00pm. The agenda will be sent as soon as it's available.

* The Northern Berkshire EMS will host a Buckle Up for Life parent event after school on Tuesday, January 11th at 3:00pm. This event will offer a free car seat to families that attend. The flyer is attached below for more information.

A Note from the Nurse:

* Please ask your doctor or clinic to fax COVID results directly to our office or provide us with a paper copy. We are unable to access portals. Thank you.

Finally, on behalf of the entire school staff, we would like to wish all of you a very happy and healthy holiday season. This year has again been very challenging in so many ways, so please know that we are grateful for all of your support and teamwork through it all and thank you for sharing your children with us every day.
