Volunteers, Chairpersons, and PTA Positions
It’s no surprise that a PTA is only as good as its volunteers. The more we have, the more we can do! Throughout the year, volunteers can make a huge impact on the students and teachers. We’re looking for ongoing short-term volunteers to help out as well as additional leadership on the PTA Executive Board for 2021-22 school year. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch with us at tustinconnectpta@gmail.com.

Plans for 2021-22 School Year: Top 5 Most FAQ
We have received a number of questions from families regarding the 21-22 school year. Included below are the Top 5 most Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will schools be 100% in-person come Fall 2021?
A: This is the million-dollar question across the country right now and TUSD is no different. At this time, it is the intention and hope that all schools will return to full-time in-person instruction. We know that Tustin Connect will continue to offer 100% virtual and once a week in-person instruction options.Q: Do I need to complete a transfer to remain at Tustin Connect in Fall 2021?
A: If you are outside of the District, please continue to submit your release from your District of Residence. A TUSD online transfer is not needed if you are planning to continue to attend TC. If you are looking at returning to your school of residence or previously approved school, be on the lookout for a survey in mid-February.
Q: Do I need to complete a transfer to return to my assigned school in Fall 2021?
A: No, just complete the survey we will be sending out in mid-February and let us know.
Q: I live outside of TUSD, what do I need to do?
A: As mentioned above, please continue to request a release from your district of residence and make sure it is sent to the Transfer's Office.
Q: When do we have to decide where we are going for Fall 2021?
A: We ask that you decide when we send out the survey in mid-February. We understand that things may change, but it's important for staffing purposes that we have an idea. If you have any concerns, you can always reach out to me directly (efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us)
Hopefully, the information above helps to clarify. Feel free to email Mr. Fineberg any additional questions (efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us)
Vision and Hearing Update
Mandated Hearing and Vision will not be completed in the usual manner this school year.
Please see the “20/21 Mandated Hearing and Vision Screening Update” document which provides educational information to parents to help them identify potential problems with their child’s hearing or vision.
Parents are encouraged to contact their health care provider, or call the school to arrange for screening with the school nurse, if they suspect there is a problem.

TUSD's School Opening & Safety Plan
The health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority as they return to school. When the new school year begins, the on-campus school will look much different than previous years due to new health and safety measures.
Tustin Unified has created a School Opening and Safety Plan that addresses how schools will meet the needs of students in the coming school year. The plan to reopen schools is based on current guidance from public health officials, state agencies, as well as your valuable input from the recent parent survey, and will be updated as the situation evolves. As a result, TUSD has put together two options that will address social-distancing requirements to keep TUSD students and staff safe while also supporting student learning.
For the 2020-21 academic year, Tustin Unified will provide families a choice of two instructional options, including the hybrid model – a blend of in-person and remote learning, and Tustin Connect (K-12) – 100% online virtual school with optional in-person instruction.
The TUSD School Opening and Safety Plan (English linked, Spanish below) covers the many procedures and protocols that are being put in place for a successful and safe reopening. The plan can also be found on the TUSD website at https://www.tustin.k12.ca.us.
