HOPE Week is Coming!
HOPE Week is sponsored by our HOPE Squad here at HMS. It is a chance for students to dress up, have a little fun, and become aware of HOPE Squad and what it stands for. Our HOPE Squad is made up of students who are nominated for the class. They are peer to peer support to aid in suicide prevention. The Middle School and High School have chapters here in Hoquiam.
Hope Week will be made up of the following days:
- Monday, October 3-Handsome Prince/Pretty Princess Day-dust off those crowns and tiaras...leave the swords at home please
- Tuesday, October 4-Jersey Day--any team, any sport...bonus points for vintage Seahawks/Sonics/Mariners :)
- Wednesday, October 5-Prom Day...Dress nicely...Mom, time to dust off that old prom dress!
- Thursday, October 6-Western Day...Cowboy/Cowgirl up...or....dress as a cow???
- Friday, October 7-Twin Day...Find a twin, dress alike, finish each other's sentences...
Girls Basketball and Boys/Girls Wrestling Begin October 20
Students interested in Girls Basketball or Boys and Girl's Wrestling need to make sure they are cleared through Final Forms prior to the first practice which is scheduled for Thursday, October 20. October Conferences...coming soon!
October Conferences will be October 25, 26, 27 and 28. Students will be released at 11:20 on those dates. There is an additional 11:20 release on Friday October 21 for Conference Preparation for staff. Staff will be reaching out to schedule conferences during the month of October. Once again, we will have the opportunity to meet with you via Zoom if a face to face conference is not possible. Please let us know if that option is needed. There will be more specifics coming out in early October. Please check your email, Facebook, and our webpage for more information, or you can call our main office line at 360-538-8220.
