Our thoughts are sincerest condolences are extended to the whanau of the two people who lost their lives yesterday on Mounga Taranaki.

Welcome to new and returning students and whanau. We are loving having you here at IPS as your joy laughter and contribution to our kura makes us who we are. As a staff we are immensely grateful to all who contribute each and every day, be it with a smile, a greeting, a gift of clothing or warmth for others or coming in to help with our programmes which benefit our tamariki.

We are grateful to the New Horizons Aotearoa team who come in on Mondays and work alongside our tamariki making predator boxes for our predator free Taranaki project.

We are grateful to Matua Moni and Matua Barry who come in and work alongside tamariki sharing their skill in whakairo with our tomokanga project.

We are grateful to Matua Kaarena and Matua Shane who work alongside tamariki with our two school bands, sharing a love of music.

We are grateful to the people who come in and assist with various sporting codes, listening to tamariki read, sharing ideas and passions.

We will be holding our powhiri for all new tamariki, whanau and volunteers who have joined us Wednesday 12 May at 1230. Please join us as we come together.

Come along to this opportunity to mix, mingle and share ideas around enhancing education for tamariki.

Just letting you know that Learning Partnership Interviews are Wednesday 30 Jun 3:15 - 5:15 and then again Thursday 1 July 1230pm - 7:45pm.

On Thursday 1 July we would appreciate those of you who can to have your children picked up at 1200 noon, so teachers can be released for interviews. For those parents who cannot arrange this, we have the capacity to have some children supervised until 3pm. Please let the office.

The TSB are moving away from using cheques. By the 25th of June 2021 the TSB will stop accepting cheques, which means we will no longer be able to deposit a cheque into our TSB account.

Please note, from the 1st of April Inglewood Primary School will no longer accept any cheques at the school office. We still offer Direct Debit, Cash and Eftpos for your inconvenience.

Our staff are putting up a lot of notices on our school facebook page with information around the many and varied opportunities for our tamariki. Please check our page or school website to keep up to date with current information.

A reminder also to make sure you have our seesaw link for your child as this is the main form of communication between home and school for learning and activities relevant to your child/ren. If you don't have a link, please see your child's teacher and they will help you.

We seek expressions of interest from an enthusiastic team player who has initiative, ability and the desire to model effective play based classroom teaching practice and make a positive difference towards our student’s learning. Applicants must enjoy collaborative, reflecting teaching and learning opportunities, Positive Behaviour for Learning strategies. This position may turn into a fulltime teaching position for 2022, depending on roll growth.

At the end of Term 1, we had 88 unnamed and unclaimed sweatshirts in the lost property. Please name ALL your clothing so it can be returned to you.

This year we have applied for hours for classical guitar and brass lessons. Should your child be interested in attending these free ‘half hour lessons’ to be held after school, please contact the office to enrol. Students will be grouped in ability/age groups. Lessons will be for a 30 week period (excluding school holidays) and will be held in our school hall. For ages from: 8yrs – 13yrs. All students will require their own instrument to enable practice at home etc. While the 1/2hr lessons are ‘free’, there will be a charge of $5 to cover the cost of photocopying etc. If you would like to enrol, please email office@inglewood.school.nz

last term children from Pouakai entered the Easter colouring competition. These children received prizes for their entries.

Many thanks to Mrs Alice Smith who assisted our students to represent IPS at our local Inglewood ANZAC Parade.

Congratulations to Monty, Harper, Maddy, Ivan-Ray and Ngatai represented their age group for Taranaki at the New Zealand Maori League Tournament in Rotorua. The crew all played really well.

Congratulations to former student Anahera Martin who swan at her firs National Age Group Swimming Champs in Wellington. Anahera gained several placings, broke a National record and recorded her own PBs at the event
