Semester 1 Exam Schedule
- Buses will run regularly in the morning and depart BHS at the normal time.
- During testing, all hallways are closed and students will not be released before the end of the exam period.
- Students who leave campus after completing exams may NOT return to campus until after the buses have left.
- Only Seniors with a valid parking tag may park on campus during finals.
- Activity buses will run at 4:45 PM and 6:30 PM on finals days.
Students and teachers have a 50-minute lunch break each day from 11:30 to 12:20.
Quest will be serving a limited lunch menu during the finals days.
Final Exams cannot be scheduled early due to family vacations or other conflicts. If a student misses their exam, they should try to make it up during the two exam days if possible or they will need to take it in the testing center or make arrangements with their teacher when school resumes in January.
The Testing Center will be open January 8, from 8 AM to 4 PM.
We appreciate your cooperation in creating a good testing environment.
You're invited: GEM Showcase at BHS
Please join us for the GEM Showcase at Barrington High School on Monday, Dec. 18 from 3:30pm to 5pm! This open house event will allow GEM students to highlight some of their learning experiences and independent research from the first half of the 2023-24 school year. The BHS GEM (Grow, Excel, Magnify) Program, which is only open to seniors this school year, allows students to expand their learning through flexible, project-based learning options and field experiences during the school day. Schedules are customized to each student, allowing them to mix GEM experiences with traditional classes. The district plans to expand the program by offering it to juniors and seniors next school year.
Home Internet Security Winter Break
Winter break is just around the corner, and it’s a good time to review your home Internet security plan and discuss responsible tech use with your student. With a break from school, students will likely spend more unsupervised time using their iPad. If you’ve not already done so, using the iPad’s Screen Time feature to establish web content restrictions, such as limiting adult content, is a great place to start. See here for instructions on how to set up content restrictions using screen time.
Life After BHS Student Panel
The BHS PTO is hosting its annual "Life After BHS" Student Panel on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 7PM in the BHS auditorium. All BHS students, along with their parents, are invited to learn more about college and post high school life and experiences from recent BHS alums. This is a candid and invaluable discussion! Mark your calendars now as this event happens on the first day of school following Winter Break!
BSN Sports has created a new "Sideline Store" for Barrington High School apparel! See Something, Say Something
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority and we commit to offering a safe
and secure educational environment. Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911.BARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
