The Texan Star November 17th
Prairie Trail Elementary School Newsletter
Message from the Principal's Desk
Good afternoon Prairie Trail Families,
We have had a fun week learning about different careers, celebrating our love of reading, and watching or performing in the fabulous 3rd grade MOO-sical.
Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and gratitude, a moment to appreciate the blessings in our lives. As we approach this special holiday, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to all the PTE students, staff, and families.
I am thankful for our fabulous students. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and imaginations inspire us every day. I am also grateful for our exceptional staff members. From teachers to paraprofessionals, custodians to cafeteria workers - each one plays an integral role in creating a positive, fun, and loving learning environment for our Texans. Lastly, but certainly not least, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to all our families. Your support and involvement make all the difference in fostering a strong partnership between home and school.
Wishing you all a joyful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and gratitude!
See you on Nov. 27th,
Wendi Vaughn
Principal

SPRINGFEST SILENT AUCTION: HELP WANTED
Did you know that our Spring Fest Silent Auction funds almost EVERYTHING we do as a PTA? That includes things like Trunk or Treat, field trips, game & movie nights, playground shade structures & equipment, school & classroom supplies, and so much more!
But we can’t do it alone. We’re currently in the planning stages for the 2024 Spring Fest & Silent Auction & we NEED YOUR HELP!
We have many areas (big & small!) where we could use some extra help to make the event & auction a success. Whether it’s making phone calls, doing data entry, working with print vendors, writing, photography, gift basket assembly, graphic design, or donation transportation, we have a role for you!
Take a minute to check out the google slides from our Auction Kick-off Meeting held earlier this week, and see if there’s an area where you’d like to help. Then fill out the short google survey at the end and let us know!

Help Boost Kids' Safety, Privacy, and Security
When kids start to go online, whether they're playing multiplayer games, using educational apps, or just following their curiosity on Google, it's important that they understand the basics of online privacy and safety. With some general guidelines around what information is and isn't OK to share, and some help from parents when they're unsure, kids can have fun and learn a lot in the digital world.
