Happy New Year Eagle subscribers. Here is to hoping 2024 is the best year ever for you and yours. That certainly is our plan at The Freedom Institute of Collier County. As our enrollment rises, so do our expectations for the great things our Eagles will do, and the fun they will have while learning and accomplishing goals along the path to the great careers they will obtain. Guest speakers, educational field trips, useful learning, tailor-made career success plans, and student learning plans will continue for each Eagle, as our highly effective coaches work with families to make the most of the home school path.
It is good to be at The Freedom Institute.

A Message from our Director, Dr. Poteet
As we conclude our first semester and begin a new chapter, I would like to extend my congratulations to all of our students, staff, and their families for their dedication and hard work. It has been a joyous journey to witness their growth and commitment to mastering our 5 Cs classes. I am thrilled to announce that a total of $2,500 in cash has been awarded to students who demonstrated exceptional proficiency in our 5C classes. Congratulations to the following students who showed mastery in multiple subjects earning them $100 or more each - Addison, Anthony, Chet, Christophe, Clare, Danica, Emma, Erik, Frank, Jake, Julia, Kaya, Lyla, Mokayla, and Sarah. Your children have exhibited remarkable skill and determination, and their achievements truly exemplify the spirit of excellence we strive for at The Freedom Institute of Collier County. As we enter the new semester, we will continue to foster an environment of learning, support, and encouragement for our students to excel even further. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in nurturing these bright minds.
A Message from Our Senior Success Coach, Mrs. Vaill
For ELA, the students voted on the novel Fahrenheit 51 by Ray Bradbury for our next literature study. We are very excited to dive into this book together!
For Consumerism, we completed Chapters 1-6 in Ramsey's Homeschool "Foundations in Personal Finance" curriculum. We will finish out this year learning about: college planning, financial services, the role of insurance, income and taxes, housing and real estate, investment and retirement, and global economics!
For Career, we will continue to improve and revise student resumes, plan for guest speakers and field trips, and host "round 2" of mock interviews with our students. We also will continue to support career goals and pair students up with internships and jobs.
A Message from Our Success Coach, Ms. Garafola
Civics - As we move into second semester, we will continue to move forward with Hillsdale learning about our government.
Math – With the new schedule, students will continue with their math curriculum. Additionally, we will start prepping students for the Accuplacer and SAT test-taking strategies during our Freedom math course.
First Annual Freedom Festive Ride!
We hosted a fun evening at Victoria Park in Naples, checking out all of the holiday lights! Students rode on two decorated trailers with their peers, and we all had a blast! Looking forward to this next year!! Thank you to Mr. Vaill and Ms. Aspegren for hosting us!
Governor Scott Walker is coming to Freedom!
We are very excited for Governor Walker to visit Freedom to speak to our students on Tuesday, January 16th! Please read the information below to learn more about YAF. In addition, Governor Walker will be returning to Freedom for an evening event for families and community members at 6:30 pm! (See flyer below).
