The Week Gone By...
Thank you to Ms. Edna and Ms. Crystal for the awesome interactive class we had last week with all things Dena'ina Language. We sang songs, practiced conversations, and had some tasty treats like fry bread, oranges, and chocolate covered gummies! Likewise, our middle school students are working on their Dena'ina names. We look forward to our classes!
Congratulations to our Battle of the Books teams from the 'Tebughna Duo' 3/4 team and the 5/6
'Team Tebughna' who worked so hard on completing their 12 book reads. Tebughna Duo finished in 4th place! Thank you to Tebughna Foundation for sponsoring our book purchase, as the students get to take home their books to build an incredble home library! We can't wait for next year!!
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your student's education journey! Please be mindful to continue to support their success by having them in school on time, and ready to go! We're open at 8:20 am with breakfast, and kickstart our day with an all school morning meeting from 8:50 am- 9:00 am, then our classes begin promptly at 9am. Let's continue to work together to give them a great start to their school day:-)
In our ongoing commitment to prioritize the health and well-being of our students and staff, we want to inform you about our KPBSD Symptom-Free Protocol. This protocol is designed to create a safer environment for everyone by minimizing the risk of the spread of illnesses. We kindly request that you ensure your child is symptom-free before sending them to school each day. This includes checking for common symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and difficulty breathing. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms or has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for an infectious illness, we strongly encourage you to keep them at home, and consult with the clinic. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter, as the collective efforts of our school community are crucial in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment for all.
The Safe School Helpline is provided to allow students, parents and community members the ability to confidentially submit report threats of violence, suicide, bullying or illegal activity that impact KPBSD schools, students, or staff. This service provides users the opportunity to leave a message or speak with a live crisis counselor for immediate needs. The helpline is administered by an independent, outside company. All communications remain private, confidential, and anonymous.
Four Ways to Report to the Safe School Helpline:
