Hello Wolves! Welcome to the sixth and last edition of the School Counseling Newsletter for the 2021-22 school year. Wow! That went by fast! We are excited to see another successful year end. We are so proud of all of our students; they have made tremendous growth in their academic and social-emotional development. We hope you all have a joyful and restful summer break. Hello Wolves!

I am so excited to be finishing my third year as part of the LMA family. This year was a bit of a rollercoaster as we transitioned back to full time in person learning, but I am pleased to share that we have seen incredible growth in each and all students. I am so impressed with our kids resilience, and I loved working with them through Second Step classroom instruction, small groups, and individual counseling support. I am grateful fo your collaboration (families and staff) and I cannot wait to continue to work with everyone next school year. A special shout out to the Class of 2026, our 8th grade promoting class. You were the first full class I supported from 6th to 8th grade, and will hold a special place in my heart forever. Go change the world and live life to the fullest!

Families and staff, I hope you have a wonderful summer break, recharge, and come back ready in August to continue to grow together.

As we wrap up the school year, there is so much to reflect on and so much to look forward to. This school year has shown us that our students, families and teachers are resilient and together we can do anything. I want to thank all of you for trusting the counseling team to support your student and allowing us to be part of their journey here at LMA. Congratulations to our graduating class, I wish you continued success as you begin the next chapter, highschool. To the rest of our wolves, we look forward to seeing and welcoming you back in August. Hello LMA Family!

The end of year is always bittersweet, we are so excited for our promoting 8th graders to begin their journeys in high school but also sad to see them go as we get to have some of our students for a little longer as a TK-8th grade school. As I finished my 5th year here at LMA and returned to in-person learning after remote learning, this year has been unexpected. I cannot be prouder of our students, staff and families for giving it their all and taking it one step at a time during the challenging times. It has been such a pleasure to work with students in their classrooms, small groups, individually and as a coach for Girls on the Run.

I am in such awe of the adults that care and work with all of our students! These last couple of years have brought on so many life challenges for everyone and yet teachers, caregivers and community members showed up to support one another and/or adapted to the changes. I truly hope everyone takes some time this summer to rejuvenate themselves and are just as excited to return for the next school year!

Free meals will be offered at LMA and SMES for all children and youth under 18. No application or registration needed! Just stop by from Monday to Friday between June 13th and July 29th to get a nutritious meal.
