A Note from the Desk of Shannon Sanders
Greetings from The Eagle Cafe!
We have gotten off to a successful school year serving an average of 150 students daily. I have enjoyed meeting the many new faces on campus and serving all their lunch needs. This year we have added the “Table of Grace” eatery to our menu, “Shanghai” has made a re-appearance, and of course the all time favorite “Chick-fil-A” and much more is available to order. The complete menu can be accessed through your FACTS Family Portal.
Important items to remember:
All orders should be placed before 8 AM on the day that they are being served.
If your student is absent on a day that they have a lunch order, it is the parents responsibility to cancel said lunch before 8 AM to prevent being billed for that meal.
Speak to your child regarding the withdrawal of vending dollars.(How much is acceptable per day/per week?)
Remind your child that we should not share money with our friends.
Please pay attention to the available funds in your student’s prepaid lunch account and add funds accordingly.
Should you have any questions concerning the lunch program or your child's account, please do not hesitate to contact me. The easiest way to reach me is by email, ssanders@1bcs.org.
As we’re entering into the cold and flu season, it is important for students to practice good hygiene for the health and wellness of the school community. Germs can spread quickly within the school system, leading to missed days of learning. Luckily, there are a few basic and simple steps that can be followed to help reduce the spread of germs within the lunchroom. These practices have been around for generations but truly remain our biggest defense against germs.
Reducing Germs by Practicing Healthy Cafeteria Habits!
.Model good hygiene
Teach and enforce proper germ etiquette
Wash hands
Avoid touching your face
Avoid touching others food or sharing food/drink with others
Follow Communicable Diseases Protocol - It is in the best interest of all students for a student who is sick to remain at home. The following guidelines will be used to ensure the health interest of all students. A student should be free of fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school. (BCS 23-24 Student Handbook (p49)
The Eagle Cafe maintains rigorous cleaning practices to prevent the spread of harmful contaminants. From regular sanitization of common surfaces to frequent handwashing by cafeteria staff, every effort is made to uphold a clean environment.
Bless the Food before us, the Friends beside us, and the School around us.

PSAT - Oct 10 - 12
The following students are set to take the PSAT from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Students need to be on time to school and bring their computer to the Assembly Room.
8th Grade - October 10th
9th Grade - October 11th
10th & 11th Grades - October 12th
Taking the PSAT provides valuable insights, practice, and opportunities that contribute to your child’s future academic success. Students get a good sense of their future SAT scores and where their strengths and weaknesses lie which allow them to target areas they need to practice and improve on for the SAT. BCS provides a tool that gives students access to take SAT practice tests along with other useful information as they ready themselves for college. To access the Capstone SAT practice tool, please visit our website at https://1bcs.org/college-and-career/ for test prep courses, test prep practicing, and college connections. If you have any questions, please contact our secondary office.
