Hough Mini Marathon
Hough’s annual Mini “Marathon” is this Friday after school! Starting at 2:45 pm on the big playground, students are encouraged to run, walk and roll around the block (Lincoln to Dundee to Lake). Everyone can choose their own distance (1-4 laps) before the course closes at 3:15. Students will earn a token for each lap they complete, and every participant will get a finisher’s ribbon and water. Parents, please join the fun by either cheering for our Hawks or running/walking/rolling the course yourself! Parent supervision is required for K-2nd and encouraged for all due to the short timeframe. This is a fun way to expel that Friday energy and kick off the spring weekend. There is no student signup required – simply show up!
Field Day
Field Day is Friday, May 26th. Here is what you need to know in advance of the BEST DAY EVER! Every student should wear their Hough Hawks t-shirt (these were distributed in the fall). Students should bring a home lunch and a water bottle (water refills will be available). Popsicles and watermelon slices will be provided during lunch. First - fifth graders will depart Hough at 9:15 and return to Hough at 1:45 pm. The rain date is planned for May 30th. Parents are welcome to volunteer. Sign-up here. Kindergarten has its own special Field Day at Hough, during the same time. We are looking forward to a GREAT DAY of fun and friendship! Rising Sixth Grade Basketball Registration is Open
Both Prairie and Station Middle Schools will have organized girls and boys basketball teams for rising sixth graders, beginning August 22. Please click here to register no later than August 4th.
