Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Community,
This week we kicked off another attendance challenge! The April Attendance Challenge will be similar to the one we held back in January: the grade level with the highest attendance for the month will win bragging rights and free pizza or ice cream (to be chosen by the winning grade level). Please remind your student to come to school each and every day. We want every student to finish out the year strong!
Next Wednesday is ACCESS Wednesday. As you know, these days fall on the Wednesday before the final week of each 6-week grading period. The day provides time for students to get caught up on assignments, retake tests, and includes activities designed by student leadership. The activities strengthen community, break-down barriers between groups of students, reduce anxiety and stress, and contribute to an overall positive school climate.
Synergy StudentVue and ParentVue were significantly upgraded over spring break. If you have trouble logging in or navigating the system, please reach out to our office and they can assist you. In addition to progress report grades, Synergy's gradebook system is a good resource to review with your student while discussing their grades and how they are doing on their assignments. For many classes, Google Classroom is another great tool -- have your student log in and they can show you their assignments and their grades.
As a reminder: we offer after school support Mondays - Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:30pm! Students must sign up in the office by noon if they would like to catch a bus ride home. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get help with their classes.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, the main office, or me by phone or email if you have questions or concerns.

Springwater Attendance
If your son/daughter is going to be out for the day please call the office (503-261-4600) and let us know the reason why. Whenever the office is not notified of an absence, a call is made home via the automated calling system. If the student is going to be out more than three days, you can call the office or email your student's teachers with a request for homework. If your student is going to be out of school for extended period of time due to a vacation or some other event, please have him/her complete a Pre-arranged Absence Form. If your student needs to leave school early or arrive late due to appointments, please call the office or send a note to excuse their absence.

What are your plans for this year: Going to College at Mt. Hood and working two jobs to save money.
What do you miss about STHS: All the teachers.
Advice you would give current STHS students: Dont procrastinate on applying for scholarships. Apply for as many as you can. Don't slack off your Junior and Senior years. They matter the most.
Joseph Spencer-Sherman
What are your plans for this year: Taking College classes at MHCC. Working towards my associate degree in Cyber Security
What do you miss about STHS: I don't really miss anything. Im enjoying college and its been a very positive experience.
Advice you would give current STHS students: College is not as hard as you think it might be. In some ways its easier then High School.
Keri Mello
What are your plans for this year: To take an interior design class at Portland Community College.
What do you miss about STHS: The community and constant support and help from teachers as well as students.
Advice you would give current STHS students: I built relationships with so many people throughout my 4 years at STHS and it really made a positive impact on my life that im so thankful for. I highly advise students to not take anything for granted. Sure school isnt always easy but don't wish it away so soon. Take advantage of all the help and resources while you have the chance because life after high school is hard and it wont be so easy to get such great help and support. Enjoy High School and make the best of it!
