LMS Weekly Reminders
9/10/2023
For the Fallen
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
The excerpt above was taken from the poem "For the Fallen" by Robert Laurence Binyon (1869-1943); published in The Times newspaper on 21 September 1914.

Middle School Task Force Student Survey
The SMCPS Middle School Task Force is working with New Solutions K-12, a scheduling consultant, to review and provide revision suggestions for consideration to the current middle school schedule. We want to ensure we are meeting the needs and wants of our students as it relates to more student choice in electives and more potential entry pathways. Our goal is to obtain honest feedback from students, so the survey will be confidential and completely anonymous. It is expected to take approximately five to seven minutes for students to complete. Students will take this survey during the week of September 11th in their Social Studies class. Please contact your child's grade-level Assistant Principal if you have any questions.
First Dance
First Dance
The first dance of the school year will be Friday, September 15th immediately after school (from 2:00-4:00 p.m.). Admission will be $5.00. Snacks will be on sale. Permissions slips will be sent home on Thursday, September 14th. Please note that NO STUDENT WILL BE PERMITTED TO STAY FOR THE DANCE WITHOUT A SIGNED SLIP ON FILE BY FRIDAY AT NOON.
Attending a school dance is a privilege. As such, the privilege of attending may be revoked by school administration. If the privilege is revoked, a parent/guardian will be contacted by an administrator. In accordance with our school dance policy, students who have received more than one referral, assigned 2 or more days of ISI, or an out-of-school suspension will not be permitted to attend the dance.
Parent involvement is welcomed. Please consider registering as a volunteer. See the "School Volunteer Portal" button below for details on how you can be a school volunteer for this dance or other LMS events.
