LHS TIGER TALK
November 9, 2023
LHS Parents,
It is important to not forget about the many individuals that have made huge sacrifices and served or are currently serving in the military to protect our freedoms and have been trained to keep all of us safe from harm.
I am appreciative and forever grateful for these individuals. They are brave, unselfish, and value the freedoms we are afforded every day. They do this knowing that it could cost them their own life to protect these freedoms and the lives of others. We must never forget their sacrifice. If you see an individual in uniform or a veteran, please take a moment to thank them for their service. Never let them feel they are forgotten!
Yours in Education,
Dave Spencer
Principal, Loveland High School
Pass It On Food Drive Needs our Help
Since 1988, the Loveland Interfaith Effort (LIFE) Food Pantry has been serving the Greater Loveland community by providing food and support for those less fortunate. They provide much needed food to hundreds of families, stock snack shelves at the local schools for qualifying children, and provide financial assistance for those in dire need. This year, in order to provide families with Thanksgiving baskets, they are requesting the following items from LHS:
Canned Soup
Canned Mandarin Oranges
Plastic Bottle Salad Dressing (no glass)
If you are able to help, please send in items with your students to be placed in the plastic bins at each entrance of the school by November 15th. Items will be delivered directly to the Prince of Peace church. On Tuesday, November 14, any students who bring in donations will receive a raffle ticket to be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card! Donuts, while they last, in exchange for donations will happen on Wednesday, November 15th!

Tickets for Fall Musical On Sale Now
LOVELAND HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS THE HILARIOUS MUSICAL, SOMETHING ROTTEN
In Shakespeare’s time, there may have been something rotten in Denmark, but there will be something wonderfully entertaining at Loveland High School November 15th-18th .
Over 60 students are involved in the fall musical production, Something Rotten. The show is an homage to Shakespeare and the wonderful world of musical theater, poking fun at both of them while writing a love letter like no other. Shakespeare is the bomb, the Elvis of Renaissance writers, and the Bottom Brothers are trying desperately to compete in the London theater world. Nick spends his life savings to visit a soothsayer to find out what will be the future of theater and beat out the bard. And it’s MUSICALS!
Not to give too much away, but tap-dancing eggs at a wedding feast try to work in as many musical
references as possible.
Tickets are on sale at our website: https://lovelandhstheater.wixsite.com/lhsdrama/box-office
Important News from the Office of School Counseling
LHS is excited to announce a new PAID internship opportunity in Business Administration with the Loveland LaRosa's! There will be two positions available for students who are committed to growing in leadership skills. Scheduling for this opportunity is flexible, but will require some evenings and weekends. Those who are selected will take part in essential skill development training that is transferable to a variety of career fields. Please see Mr. Mitchell by Friday, November 17 if you are interested in interviewing for one of the two positions. Feel free to reach out to mitchedr@lovelandschools.org if you have any questions.
Loveland High School is serving as a host site for ACT prep with LEAP, leading up to the state-sponsored test for juniors that takes place on Tuesday, February 27. Please see this link for information about the dates, times and registration process for this course.
Loveland High School is very thankful for the opportunity to partner with the Miami Township Fire & EMS Department to offer students a chance to be involved in “Rescue Services 101”, a job shadow program designed to give students who are interested in public safety a behind the scenes look at emergency services. Students that choose to participate will spend an afternoon/evening working with firefighters/paramedics.
There are eight dates available. Students are given an excused absence for any time that is missed during the school day. Most shadow experiences take place from 1:00pm-6:00pm, but this is flexible. Saturdays and Sundays are available if needed.
Please complete this form and print and sign this consent form from Miami Township; both are required for participation. Leave the dates blank at this point. The consent form can be given to either Mr. Mitchell or Mrs. Hildebrand in the school counseling office.
Mr. Mitchell will reach out to the student to set up a date for the job shadow once both forms have been completed. Feel free to reach out to mitchedr@lovelandschools.org with any questions.
