Family Link August 2023

This month's Family Link is a shorter edition than usual, with snippets of information to get you thinking about and ready for the upcoming school year.

• Back to School Events - Find your school's Back to School Event
• Bus Schedules - Bus routes and schedules will be posted in mid-August.
• School Lunch Menus - Monthly menus are posted as links below the Green Apple.
• School Websites - From the AACPS homepage, click on Select a School at the top. Click on your school, then click on "School Website" for school-specific information such as staff lists, newsletters, and more.
• Student/Parent Portal - Access schedules and grades through PowerSchool.
• Volunteer - Get ready for the school year by completing the Volunteer Process, including Background Checks or Fingerprinting.

When in doubt, Search! Not sure where to find what you need? Click on the magnifying glass in the small blue box on the right side of the AACPS homepage. It will open a search bar that searches the entire AACPS website.

Fill in your personal calendar with school dates and schedules from the 2023-2024 school calendar

• Check your school's supply lists
• Prepare your uniforms - Check with your school for used uniform sales and giveaways. Not all schools require uniforms.
• Add funds to your school lunch account or Apply for Free and Reduced Meals.
• Make a plan for where backpacks, lunch boxes, and other school materials will be kept.
• Start getting back on track with a regular school-year sleep schedule 1-2 weeks in advance.
• Get in a positive mindset - Talk about all the fun things to enjoy and learn about this year!
