Is Your Student a Sixth Grader?
If so, applications are now open to register your student for Middle school PUENTE or AVID.
Both AVID and PUENTE have the same mission: to support motivated students in becoming competitively eligible for a four-year college/university upon high school graduation. Both programs also encourage students who will be the first in their families to go to college or who have similar unique circumstances to apply.
Both AVID and PUENTE indicate to colleges and universities the motivation and college-readiness of enrolled students.
Both AVID and PUENTE coordinate 25+ college tours for students enrolled in the programs.
Both AVID and PUENTE require their teachers, counselors, and support staff to be trained. Staff attends trainings throughout the year to stay current on AVID or PUENTE methods and requirements.
