All Students are Curious, Creative, and Confident Learners!
Dear Kendallvue Families,
I hope everyone is staying warm this holiday weekend. We had two inside recess days this week. It looks like the temperature will warm up later this week and we can get everyone outside all week. Speaking of inside activities, we had a very successful spelling bee on Friday. Congratulations to Raylan Griffith our champion, and Ryley March our runner up. They will represent Kendallvue in the Bear Creek area Spelling Bee at Carmody Middle School in February. We are proud of all our Spelling Bee competitors. It was exciting to have the Spelling Bee back at Kendallvue.
Some upcoming events include our next SAC meeting on January 25th at 5:00pm. We will discuss our budget considerations for next year. This is a great opportunity to help shape our direction with staffing and instructional decisions. The first annual Empty Bowls event is February 7th. This is a great event to help support the Jeffco Action Center and come together as a community. Kids have had fun making their bowls for this event - thank you Mrs. Tomlinson! Finally, our parent/teacher conferences will be February 15th from 12:00-4:00pm. Students will be released early on the day at 12:00 for conferences. February 16th is a teacher workday into the long holiday weekend.
I want to say a quick "thank you" to everyone for adjusting to the morning parking routine. Things seem to be moving relatively smoothly. Just a few reminders: it is important you pull forward as far as possible toward the trash cans - you can read my joke of the day on the board! Please be quick with getting your kids out of the car to keep the line moving. On Friday, I saw at 8:03 most everyone was in the building and the parking lot was clear. On that note, if your student has 10 or more tardies, any future tardies will no longer be excused. I want to stress the importance of kids getting into their classrooms by 8:05am. I understand from time to time the struggle of getting to school on time, but I want to reduce/eliminate the habit of showing up late. I think we can all appreciate the importance of getting to school or work on time.
Have a great rest of your weekend and stay warm! I will see you around the school.
Cheers,
Bruce Lindsey

Looking to engage in supporting students’ social and emotional well-being at home? We will explore a variety of strategies they can integrate into your household with learners of all ages. We review a bank of valuable resources parents and caregivers can access for additional information about supporting students’ SEL in intentional ways to build empathy, kindness, and an inclusion mindset.
PTA Updates
PTA Elections
It’s already time to consider PTA elections for the 2024-25 school year!
Are you interested in situating the PTA’s finances as Treasurer? Create agendas and record minutes, and keep it all organized as Secretary? Or, take a gander at PTA President? All 3 positions will be open for the school year and anyone (besides staff) is invited to run for a position. The roles would be from July 2024-July 2025.
Elections will be held at the March 6th PTA meeting. Contact the PTA @ teamkendallvuepta@gmail.com or voice your interest online or in-person at the Feb 7th meeting.
