Schedule at a Glance
Sync the Calendar to your phone!
The easiest way to keep up with schedules is to sync the band calendar to your phone! Add this url https://fcbands.boosterhub.com/ical-stream to your google or outlook calendar.
*If you are experiencing issues with your calendar synching, we recommend to un-sync and re-sync your calendar every once in a while to make sure your calendar is up-to-date.
Looking Ahead 👀
2024 Marching Band Meeting is scheduled for February 21, 2024. An immediate need for marching band will be volunteers to help with uniforms. If you are interested, or have questions, please contact our marching band liaison, Heather Long, at marchingbandliaison@fcbands.org.
A NOTE FROM THE BOOSTER PRESIDENT
PARENT CALLOUT!
Fellow band parents - it's hard to believe that it's time to hold elections for the 2024-25 year. According to our bylaws, we are to begin the elections process in January by appointing a nominating committee of booster parents. This committee will work in conjunction with the band directors to develop a slate of candidates for the elected positions. The slate of candidates will then be presented to all booster parents at least 7 days prior to the election, which will be held at the March 13th parent meeting. The board-elect will then shadow the current board through the remainder of the school year, and officially take office on June 1st.
Our elected board positions are:
*President
*Vice President
*Secretary
*Treasurer
*Engagement Coordinator
*Events Coordinator
*Fundraising Coordinator
We want YOU to seriously consider becoming more involved with our booster activities! All elected positions are open to all active booster parents who are interested. If you have questions about any position, please reach out to the current board member - we are happy to help answer those questions.
Please email president@fcbands.org with your interest in either (1) the nominating committee or (2) one of the elected positions. We are excited to continue our growth into the future.
(NOTE: the positions of Concert Band Liaison, Jazz Bands Liaison, Guard Liaison, and Percussion Liaison are appointed by the directors, not elected by the booster parents. We encourage those who are interested in those positions to reach out to the current liaisons and/or directors for more information!)
EVENTS
FC Bands Upcoming Events
Franklin Central Bands is hosting 3 events in the next two months. We will be hosting Indiana Percussion Association on Saturday February 10, WGI on Saturday and Sunday March 2-3 and IHSCGA on Saturday March 9. We still need help to make these events run efficiently. Please use the link below to sign up to volunteer for a shift. Click any of the dates listed above and the calendar and click on the volunteer opportunities. https://fcbands.org/calendar/1916#
REMINDER: Marching Band families who did not purchase the buyout option are required by the Financial Agreement to work at least four (4) shifts at our hosted events. Volunteering at other band activities (car wash, chaperone, prop parent, etc) does not count toward this requirement. Each family will soon receive an email noting the number of shifts they have worked thus far and the number remaining in order to fulfill their requirement.
Failure to complete all four (4) shifts will result in a charge of $100 for each missed shift (up to a maximum of $400), which will be added to the student’s band account.
Please remember that shifts must be worked by adults age 18 or over, with a current FTCSC background check, as required by the district. Students are not allowed to work these shift requirements, as they will have their own shifts assigned to them by the directors.
Thank you in advance for making these events great! Franklin Central is always given high praise for our events, from our friendly and helpful volunteers to how well each event runs. YOU are a part of that success!

Winter Guard
Congratulations Winter Guard Reg A on their first-place finish, in their division on Saturday! What a great start to the season!
Guard Undergarments
Reg A members will need to have nude/skin colored seamless underwear and a skin toned body tight with stirrup foot. Below is a photo of an example from amazon. These can be purchased in several different skin tones. These are required to be worn under costume at all times.
Open guard undergarments:
Ladies will need nude/skin tone bra and seamless underwear.
Gentlemen will need to have a dance belt.
Body tights need to be skin-toned to match skin tone as closely as possible. The style and cut doesn't matter since there are 3 different styles of costume.

Pep Band
We have TWO basketball games this Friday! For the first game, we will be serving pizza as normal. For the second game, we would like to put on a dessert "pitch-in"! Please bring a dessert of your choice...cookies, brownies, pie, creme brulee...the world is your dessert-filled oyster! If anyone is willing to bring a case of water, that would also greatly help the band (Pep Band goes through almost 2 cases a water each game)! Let's have a blast this Friday with some great basketball, great pizza, and great dessert!
Students can bring desserts and water with them at our 4:30pm call time, or parents can drop items off at door 3W by 5pm.
GO FLASHES!
Philharmonic Orchestra
The FC Philharmonic Orchestra will be rehearsing on Tuesday, January 30, at 3pm.
