Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Students and Families,
Happy Cinco de Mayo! The weather is getting warmer and sunnier, little by little. We are keeping our fingers crossed that next Friday remains dry and and warm. The school will be heading to Dabney State Park for our Community Care Day. We will spend the morning working with park rangers to restore habitat and maintain the park. In the afternoon we will have a catered lunch from Buster's Barbecue! Lunch is free for all students. Thank you to those students and guardians who have turned in permission slips. If you need another copy, see this email for the permission slip or swing by the office to pick one up.
Next Thursday is our Welcome Night for our incoming 9th graders. Thank you to the students and staff who support this evening, welcoming and celebrating our incoming students. I am excited to welcome a new group of Titans to our community!
On Friday, May 19th is the Women In Trades Fair organized by Oregon Tradeswomen. Interested students should see Vickie Vogl for more information and to sign up. Students who have gone in the past have loved this trip! The fair is an interactive, trades-related career event highlighting apprenticeship and debt-free training options for lucrative careers in the skilled construction trades.
Enjoy the weekend and reach out if you have questions.

Future Plans After High School: I want to go to Mt. Hood Community College and, I think, study psychology. Then I want to go to PSU or University of Oregon and I want to become a therapist.
Grade: 9
Interests: Whenever someone asks me that, I forget everything I’ve ever liked. I like playing Minecraft, hanging out with my friends and my family, and watching scary movies. My favorite is “Midsommar.”
Favorite subject in school: Health. I just love Ms. Bennis. She’s really nice.
Favorite thing about STHS: How nice the staff is. At other schools, they’re probably not as attentive and passionate. Everyone here is like “How’s your day? Good morning.” At other schools it’s probably not personal, like it is here. People here know you by name.
Brooklyn Walker
Future Plans After High School: I plan on doing a paid internship under a mortician and then doing two years of college and becoming a mortician myself.
Grade: 10
Interests: I really like cross-stitching, those diamond paintings, and I also really love playing D&D.
Favorite subject in school: Probably Leadership and Science. I really like both of those classes because both of the teachers, Ramsey and McBride, can be super fun and make the class a lot better.
Favorite thing about STHS: I like the small community. It’s easier to be close to people. It’s easier to make friends.
Mariam Abawi
Future Plans After High School: My future plans after high school are too attend OSU to get my BioHealth Sciences Degree and then try to apply for Med school afterwards for pediatrics.
Grade: 11
Interests: My interests include walking/jogging, listening to music, & reading.
Favorite subject in school: My favorite subject in school is biology because I truly love learning about the human body and other organisms and how different they are from each other.
Favorite thing about STHS: My favorite thing about STHS is that because it’s a smaller community, communication is much easier and I can get all the help I need!
Dabney State Park All School Field Trip: May 12th
We are excited for the entire school to head to Dabney State Park next Friday, May 12th! If you have not completed your permission slip, please do so as soon as possible. Copy of the permission slip is listed below. We will be leaving around 8:30am and returning by 2:30pm.
Busters BBQ lunch will be provided and served at Dabney.

As always, students are welcome to bring their own sack lunch or snacks. We request students wear comfortable, layered clothing as the day may start off cool. We recommend students wear shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Students should also bring a water bottle. Please reach out to the office if you have questions or concerns about the trip.
