The Whitewater Community Adult ESL Program celebrated its first "Thankfulness Night" on Wednesday, May 3! The evening was inspired by the deep appreciation the students have for the program, the staff, and the volunteers who make it possible.
The local partnership is strong through UW-W Associate Professor Andrew Hurie and WUSD Bilingual Liaison Jorge Islas Martinez. They share a passion for providing a welcoming and supportive environment for these transformational learning services.

In early May, six WHS automotive students showcased their skills by competing in the Firestone Challenge at MATC in Madison. Individual events included a scan tool test, tire rotation, electrical test, precision measurement test, and a part identification test.
Highlights from the day featured an impressive car show, spirited teacher RC car drag races, and most notably, one pair of WHS students ranking in the top 10 among more than 33 teams!
Mrs. Frye’s Kindergartners spent three weeks researching and observing the life cycle of chickens. Students incubated eggs, candled their growth, observed them hatch, examined the shells, and—best of all—enjoyed the cute, fluffy baby chicks! 🐣
Thank you to the Wisconsin 4-H Extension Office and UW-Madison for providing this enriching, hands-on experience.
