Dear Yellowjacket Families,

WOW! It's hard to believe that we are already into October! In just a few short weeks we'll be finished with our first nine weeks!

Please help us in reviewing what it means to SWARM Together in all that we do here at school with your students. Our 5 Values of SWARM are: S - Safe, W - Work Hard, A - Attitude, R - Respect, and M - Mindful. We hope to see all our families at our upcoming Family Fun Night on October 10th. We’ll have games, the Book Fair, and two “Bookworm” shows at 5:30pm and 6:15pm!

We’re looking to spruce up our library for Book Fair Week and October! Join the Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest! All pumpkins will be displayed in the library and awards will be given to the top 3 best pumpkins! All pumpkins can start to come in on Oct. 9th and due by Oct. 13th!

If you would like to help in the library or at Book Fair please sign up here so Mrs. Melly can contact. A Sigh-Up Genius will be sent so you can pick a time that works with your schedule for book fair.

Yeager will be celebrating and honoring our Veterans on Friday, November, 10th. We are asking for grade levels to wear the following solid color shirt.

**Due to space constraints, parents are not invited to Veterans Day unless they are Veterans.

The birthday sign will be posted for 3 days (the day before the birthday, the birthday and the day after) for $15!

Birthday signs with your child's name will be posted UPON PAYMENT and there will be NO REFUNDS. Summer birthdays will still be posted in the summer.

The latest time we are able to check-out students is 3:30. After 3:30, they will need to be a part of our regular dismissal that begins at 4:05. If you need to pick-up your child early from school, please make sure to send a note with them to school and that the pick up time is before 3:30.

Thank you for understanding and for your support, this helps our staff ensure that we are able to dismiss our students safely and efficiently every day.

Students may come inside the building beginning at 8:20AM from the car rider line. Students should be dropped off no later than 8:40am so they have time to make it to class before the tardy bell at 8:45am.

At 8:45am we begin our morning announcements and our staff members on car rider duty need to go inside to report to their first-period classes. After this time, the adult will need to park their car and come inside to sign in their child.

We will start recording tardies on Tuesday, September 5th.

Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) are an essential part of the learning community. All parents, grandparents, and even members of the community are invited to volunteer their time and talent at Yeager Elementary.

There are many different opportunities throughout the year for volunteers to make an impact. If you would like more information on how you can be involved, please send us an email at yeagervips@gmail.com.

Also, please create a Volunteer Portal Account so ALL your volunteer hours can be recorded. We’d like to honor a Yeager VIPS each month and ensure all our VIPS are invited to the annual CFISD VIPS Appreciation Luncheon.

Please label all items that come to school with your child's name. Our Lost and Found gets very full multiple times a year and we end up donating lots of items. If your child's name is on their item, it makes it easy for us to return the item.

If you have moved or your lease expired, please provide new proof of residency to the registrar's office. You may email a copy of the current lease, HCAD, mortgage statement or closing documents along with a current light, gas or water bill to yeager@cfisd.net. Please make sure to include your child's name and grade level.

Club Rewind is the before/after-school care program designed by CFISD and located at each elementary campus for eligible Pre-K through 5th grade students.

The program is fee-based and offers morning care, afternoon care and a combination of both. Click here for more information.
