Volunteer news
Hello CBPA families! I hope you all had a fun-filled summer! It was so nice to see many of you at the open house this past Wednesday. I am excited to have volunteers back in our building for the 2023/24 school year. We have many activities that take place at school where we could use your help! To be part of the volunteer team at CBPA, please click here to complete your volunteer application. Once you complete your application form, you will receive a link to complete your criminal history release form. Both forms need to be completed each school year and are needed for all volunteer activities (including field trips.). If you have any questions, please let me know!
Please note the volunteer office has moved! The volunteer office is located right across from the main office. I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces when you check in for your volunteer opportunity!
Speaking of volunteer opportunities, please see below for what help is currently needed:
Kindergarten Conference Check In: Our kindergarten families will be coming in on Tuesday, 9/5 and Wednesday, 9/6 during the day to have a meet and greet conference with their student's kindergarten teacher. Our families will be entering the building at door 40 so I am in need of a volunteer or 2 to be stationed at the door to check in families and direct them to the kindergarten classroom. Times needed are 9:30-11:15 am and 12-3 pm. I have an urgent need for Tuesday, 12-3 as I don't have anyone signed up. Please click on the link below to sign up to help:

September Lunchroom: Volunteers are needed to help with getting the students through the serving line, assisting them while they are eating, helping them during lunch dismissal and wiping down tables. The time is 11 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. However, if you are not able to commit to the entire time - that is ok - we will take whatever time you are willing to offer. Just note in your signup what time you will be volunteering! Please click on the links below to see what days help is needed:

Parent Drop-Off & Walkers
Please reserve the handicapped spaces for those who need to access them for hand-to-hand transfers and others who have permits to utilize those spaces.
Walkers may enter in the front or back of the building. If coming from the east side of our campus, students should walk along the sidewalk closest to Jackson, rather than along 109th. This will reduce the number of driveways your child needs to cross. Bike racks may be accessed at the front or back of the building. For security purposes, our doors will lock at 9:25 a.m. Walkers who arrive after that time will need to enter the front of the building, so they may be let in by office staff.
From the PTO
The CBPA PTO is excited to embrace new families this year, in addition to welcoming back our returning Husky families. We eagerly look forward to collaborating with our committed staff and fostering robust connections with CBPA family and friends.
Our first PTO Forum is on Tuesday, September 12 in the CBPA Nature Center at 6:30pm. All are welcome to attend and hear from Principal Kouba and School Board Representative Kacy Deschene as we embark on a new school year!
Other upcoming events include:
Restaurant Night at Champlin Chipotle on September 20. Let them know you're with CBPA and 33% of sales are shared back to CBPA!
Popsicles on the Playground with the Principal on September 27 at 4:30pm. Join us for a treat on the playground!
The Husky Fun Run fundraiser kicks off in early October. We are looking to raise money for some incredible school spirit additions! Here's a hint...our husky mascot sure needs a bath! Keep your eyes peeled for more information, coming soon!
Interested in learning more about the PTO? Do you have suggestions or wish to do more with CBPA, but don't know where to start? Complete this short interest form and we will be in touch. We are grateful for every volunteer and supporter as we continue to support our teachers and staff and, ultimately, each and every student at CBPA.
